Throw the bastards out in November 2018. I know it’s a long time to wait, but in the meantime, resist.
As if pregnancy and abortion issues aren’t part and parcel of women’s health.
I assume he already knows no federal dollars pay for abortions, so he’s merely grandstanding.
Kudos to his constituents for having none of it.
Not to put too fine a point on it, but a better headline would read:
“Another Republican Makes Ass of Self, Attempting to Mansplain Women’s Health to Women. Yet Again.”
Let’s hope the Dems are already recruiting and vetting strong candidates in this (and every single other R-held) district!
They wanted to split the Republican party into two separate organizations years ago, but they quickly realized that sexists and racists have largely the same goals.
When I was younger, and less restrained in my opinions, my opinion on abortion was quite straight forward: if you do not personally have a uterus, I don’t care what your opinion is. I have softened with the years: if you never personally had a uterus, I don’t care what your opinion is. The exception is solely for people like my late Mom-in-law, who had a hysterectomy, and also was pro-life. It was one of many issues where we thoughtfully, respectfully, and affectionately disagreed.
I propose we split the GOP into two parties- one the White Nationalist Party and one the Bad Ideas Party- and every registered member of either party are denied the vote unless they show proof of having made a $100 donation to PP.
If Democrats turn out next year, scumbags like Lance should easily lose their reelection campaigns.
The party of anti-regulation, laissez faire capitalism small government thinks government should be able to regulate and reorganize the business of Planned Parenthood. Okey dokey.
Well, according to BALLOTPEDIA, this district is on the D Trip’s radar which is very good. It should be seeing as the district isn’t crazy conservative (i.e., Markwayne Mullin’s district). I would hope that we could recruit someone who goes beyond “some dude” status.
It’s a strong red district, though its not as strong as Mullin’s or Jimmy Duncan’s districts. .
Now a strong Democrat could end this dominance, but Lance will likely be a strong opponent to beat.
Now having said that, these modern day Republicans must be relying on voters having amnesia in '18.
His last D opponent was a guy named Peter Jacob, someone I never heard of (not that that means much). Let’s hope that incumbency doesn’t help him in the end.
I’m also wondering if Lance’s challenger would be able to ride on any “coattails” of the Dem Governor candidate. Whoever that turns out to be. Dunno.
Why do you think there are never debates in congress or state legislatures over men’s sexual health and ED pill abuse?
Congressman Lance would never suggest prostate exams and vasectomies be separated into different insurance plans.
Haha…this is going to be an entertaining recess…
This might actually be the germ of a good idea. Creating a separate entity, with an affiliation with Planned Parenthood, could be done without disrupting the economics of the organization. If this would work to get the anti-abortion faction to lay off PP, it becomes a face-saving compromise. It’s a shame that Lance’s audience didn’t hear him out on this.
I wish people would start chanting “Useless!” at these guys.
Nah…it would provide the GOP with a discrete target with which the rest of the women’s and family planning health services are not inextricably linked. Can you guess why Teatroll want to change the calculus and the very language of the debate in that manner?
Also, it’s the principle of the thing, which I will explain succinctly as follows: FUCK. THIS. MISOGYNIST. DOUCHE.
Bull. The idea of abortion is a part of every women’s reproductive life. It shouldn’t be segregated into some separate entity, constantly at risk of being defunded, simply because of rabid politics. The issue is women’s reproductive health and the freedom of women to do as they see fit with their bodies. No compromises on this.
