Of course, here’s the thing: the Republicans making these charges, the Fox News blowhards screeching them night after night, KNEW all along it was all bullshit, but that wasn’t the point. The point was to muddy up the waters so that there was a dark air of uncertainty about the issue and their dimwitted followers would dutifully turn up on Election Day. And guess what, it worked.

Facts and truth are as alien to them as ice is to the sun. They cared little or not at all about the facts of Benghazi; they only saw it as a way to score political points. And when they used it (and a lot of similar specious and nonsensical bullsh*t) as a dog whistle to get their curs to the polls on election day, they came a runnin’!
