Hey Republicans you think youâve headed off trouble now just wait.
And as for your opposition to things being âjammed down throatsâ whatâs the benefit of putting off to tomorrow the things you should do today, wink, wink nudge, nudge? You are still going to screw over all those nice white, mostly rural folks, that re-elected you and elected Trump.
What do they think will get those republican governors on board with an earlier date? Maybe denying the vote to anyone making less than 4x the poverty line?
Damn should have bought stock in knee pads and handkerchiefs.
Snooze you lose I guess.
Well, of course they are going to try and put off a majority of the pain until after the 2020 elections. That way their useful idiots will vote for them in the last critical redistricting that the Republicans will ever be viable in.
Wow. Some knucklehead from Texas is willing to go on record saying that House members are going to âconvinceâ R governors in expansion states on whatâs best for them? Watch out son, thatâs John Kasichâs coffee mug coming at your head.
I wonder if the ultra-conservative caucus is caving? That might explain Ryanâs confidence that he can get this bill passed in the House.
The House is either delusional or plans on this bill dying in the Senate. 16 of the governors this guy needs to convince are Democrats. At least two are Republicans who are fighting to keep their Medicaid expansions, Snyder and Kasich.
You have Republican Senators who are not bluffing about opposing this bill. And you have Lamar Alexander, who is Chair of the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee and has said repeatedly that any taking apart of the ACA will take time and public review.
I donât know. Iâm a pessimist, but I donât think thereâs any way this doesnât get passed in the house. These far right nut jobs may bitch and moan about getting perfect, but theyâll be happy enough to kill the ACA and gerrymandered districts or not, they wonât want to go back and say they had a chance to kill the great devil and didnât.
The Senate on the other hand⌠not too hopeful there either. I wouldnât put it past the old Turtle to do away with whatever rules they need to to get this done either. Republican Senators have little to fear in 2018. Most are in safe bright red states. Dean Heller and Jeff Flake are the only ones who won with less than 50% of the vote. Heller being the only one in a state that went blue in the Presidential Election. I donât think we need to worry about Manchin of Casey flipping (both up next too), theyâre both from Medicare expansion states and Casey has gone all in blue these days.
