Imagine the firestorm if he had suggested helping the poor.
“Let’s make sure that poor children have access to proper health care, are fed with nutritious meals, and that lead and other developmentally dangerous chemicals are kept out of their environment”
“This man does NOT speak for me! People only live in poverty by choice. Monstrous parents who expose their children to lead in the environment should be locked up!”
Hmm. The apology was on their Facebook page, not their twitter. The facebook page looks like it is hardly ever used. Was this because the guy who got fired was the only person they had who had any experience with modern social media?
Translation:
“We apologize for our unintentional candor.
Republicans don’t actually HATE poor people, we simply have utter contempt and disdain for them … selectively so – it’s a matter of some complexion.”
It’s actually not true. Republicans love poor white people and the poor white people love republicans: the whitest, poorest areas in the country are the ones that are more reliable republican.
That said, the republicans and the poor white people themselves do not consider white people as “poor”, they might be “working class” even if they haven’t worked for years. Poor people have high levels of melanin and tend to live in the cities, and cannot be considered to work regardless of how many jobs they hold…
Once again, Republicans completely miss the point. Democrats don’t love poor people because they think they will vote Democrat. Poor people are Democrats because they know only Democrats will try to do something about poverty. Republicans hate poor people because the ever growing number of poor people is verifiable proof that Republican policies create poor people.
Read carefully, I believe the exact quote was “resigned from their position “. They are now in the position of being in charge of supervising staffers (of which they were recently one).

So if being poor is below human dignity, how come republicans are uniformly opposed to measures that will help people to stop being poor?
[/quote]It’s the old, “Pull yourself up by your own bootstraps” … but you’re too poor to have any boots.
