Yeah, cuz youâre all such staunch supporters of women yourselvesâŚ
Kentuckyâs Republican governor, Matt Bevin, is iffputting to more than just women! Perhaps they should consider their entire body of âwork.â
Are GOP Govs trying to out-projection Trump, or what?
The focus on demographics makes me think these guys believe they have a structural problem that can be fixed by changing the messaging - the reality is their policies are toxic to growing segments of society and they are blind to that reality.
They have been blind to that reality for a long time. Thatâs why they latched on to âvoter fraudâ a dozen years ago to explain their election losses.
Not their forte. Peopleâs capacity to believe their own cover stories is a huge fact of human nature.
a strategy to move away from attack ads and overall negativity.
That would leave the party of Lee Atwater speechless.
The faint whiff of a rehabilitation of the Republican Party by those who have perpetrated its worst policies is pretty funny and pathetic, but having said that, let the Anti-Orange Wave gather tsunami strength.
Yep. I might even vote for Charlie Baker if he primaries the ShitGibbon. Being âunenrolledâ in MA has its attractions.
GOP Govs Blame Trump
Gee, ya think? Good thing you all rose up and with one voice decried the misogynist-in-chief at every turn. Regular profiles in friggin courage, the bunch of themâŚ
GOPâs affliction blame everyone but themselves.
Anyway this is what Iâm looking forâwhere the cracks first show. This party is terrified. If a brave, desperate few say out loud that Trumpâs a problem, with his ârhetoricâ or however they choke it out, if they say that and the world doesnât end, the chorus will get louder. And the thing is, thereâll be a low-grade civil war, because the average politico is like a lab mouse, they can learn very simple lessons, but not fast, and not with much nuance. Theyâll say oh my mustnât criticize Trump, that way lies perdition, and itâll be a big donnybrook so to speak.
Itâs time for another autopsy of the R party like the one Rinse issued in 2012 when rMoney lost urging inclusion on several fronts with outreach to women, gays, minorities, and urging a softer tone over all to minorities. Six years later another R is saying the same things.
Blame tRump, 100% but also blame YOURSELVES as it is your policies re: women and POC that are also a very large part of your loses.
Weâll see. Once my sister said she would consider having a cat in the house if it would not a) jump on the kitchen counters b) jump on the furniture or c) go upstairs. I told her sheâs not really talking about cats, they do what they feel like doing, you donât get to pick and choose. The GOP is Thelma and Louise-ing it at this point. Look out below, because they ainât adapting.
I âknowâ itâs like âI just hit her once or twiceâ itâs THAT GUY who pulled the trigger.
Just a difference in DEGREE not in KIND.
The governorsâ criticism has some in the White House nervous, as popular Republican governors Hogan or Charlie Baker (MA) could pose a primary risk to Trump in 2020.
I honestly donât believe Rump will be on the R ticket in 2020 to pose a primary risk to. He will be gone by hook or by crook (see what I did there?) The conundrum that the Rethugs face is truly obvious to all of us on the Left:
-
embrace Rump and lose the majority of the country at large
-
alienate Rump and lose the Rethug base
If they go with #2 then theyâd better have a plan that appeals to Indies and Dems and that just isnât happening. Actually, I think itâs possible that once Rump is no longer on the ticket, the die hards of Rumpâs base will pretty much evaporate anyway.
I like that: RINSE. Fits.
Michael Steele, the former RNC head, has LOTS to say about Reince Preibus (I remember how Rachel Maddow, on her radio show, used to call out REINCE PRIEBUS whenever she discussed him) and his utter lack of integrity.
GOP winning is based on voter suppression and gerrymandering, but they werenât counting on losing white women and the suburbs. Their party deserves to die.
