Discussion for article #246056
Wow, what does Harriet Myers think ?
W’s old dream team reappears, I thought they were stashed away in some witness protection scheme…
There is NO legitimate case against PBO nominating and confirming a new justice. None.
Who’d he borrow the goat from?
Still trying to rehab his reputation.
Good luck Mr. Gonzales…you are now dead to every right-wing nut job on the planet. But thanks for being the lone voice of reason.
Gonzales, on CNN Monday, whoever, seemed to believe that it was Democrats who had encouraged the idea that Republicans planned to block President Obama’s nominee no matter whom he put forward.
"There’s already talk, criticism by Democrats that Republicans are threatening to block this nominee.
I didn’t know that Cruz, Rubio, Trump and Bush were Democrats…learn something every day.
Unfortunately in the confirmation process, there is always politics, it involves itself, and you’ve had Democrats in the past block Republican nominees
“Someone should ask the former AG why it was necessary for Reagan to put up a bonafide ‘FU’. I’m sure his answer will be intriguing…”
and you may have the same thing in this particular situation," Gonzales said.
You may…as soon as the GOP chieftains can get an unified answer together.
Huh. A GOPper who actually thinks, and expresses a logical result. Kinda rare, nowadays.
Wow, I actually agree with this mobster?
(meant to type “monster” but it still works so fuck it)
Berto? What rock did he climb out from under to speak this bit of truth?
I’m glad he weighed in but I’m waiting for his old boss to do so.
“There’s already talk, criticism by Democrats that Republicans are threatening to block this nominee. With no due respect: Shut up. Stick that false equivalency shtick back into the crack of your ass. Please point out where the Democrats ever tried to block a Republican SCOTUS nominee with eleven months still on the clock.
Almost nothing the republicans do or want to do is legit, why should this be.
What will Republicans say about the qualifications of Obama’s eventual nominee?
OK, Cruz is hated by everyone. Even by this guy.
Speaking of meaningful typos. From the article:
Gonzales, on CNN Monday, whoever, seemed to believe . . .
Clawing, dragging his way inch-by-inch, towards the moral high ground, hoping his compatriots take the hint.
Creo que Gonzo debe callarse. Para dos razones:
(a) Nadie lo cree
(b) En este ambiente, la opinion suya es inutil
“The Senate is going to be very careful and very deliberate before doing anything here,” he added.
…
I beg to differ Mr Gonzales. The Senate republicans will do all they can to obstruct any nomination. Obama could nominate God and the GOP would find fault with that nomination. It does not matter who Obama nominates, they will most certainly be savaged unmercifully. They and their family up to the 4th generation. Obama could pick a right winger hanging judge and the Senate would go on full attack mode. This is their last chance to beat up on “that black man in the Oval Office who thinks he’s the President”. The obstruction and savagery we are about to see is racially motivated. And it comes out of hatred, not reason.
Heck it’s already getting ugly and Scalia is barely cold.
Rachel Maddow did a great opening last night about this. The last time we were without a justice for a year was during the Civil War. She closed with: “It took the American Civil War to excuse a year long vacancy on the Court. What’s the excuse now?”
