Gonzales, on CNN Monday, whoever, seemed to believe that it was Democrats who had encouraged the idea that Republicans planned to block President Obama’s nominee no matter whom he put forward.

I didn’t know that Cruz, Rubio, Trump and Bush were Democrats…learn something every day.
Unfortunately in the confirmation process, there is always politics, it involves itself, and you’ve had Democrats in the past block Republican nominees

I beg to differ Mr Gonzales. The Senate republicans will do all they can to obstruct any nomination. Obama could nominate God and the GOP would find fault with that nomination. It does not matter who Obama nominates, they will most certainly be savaged unmercifully. They and their family up to the 4th generation. Obama could pick a right winger hanging judge and the Senate would go on full attack mode. This is their last chance to beat up on “that black man in the Oval Office who thinks he’s the President”. The obstruction and savagery we are about to see is racially motivated. And it comes out of hatred, not reason.
Heck it’s already getting ugly and Scalia is barely cold.

Rachel Maddow did a great opening last night about this. The last time we were without a justice for a year was during the Civil War. She closed with: “It took the American Civil War to excuse a year long vacancy on the Court. What’s the excuse now?”
