Well I’m not going to engage in an internet pissing match. I hope she chooses to testify because I think she could derail the nomination. I also agree that her lawyer does not really have any bargaining power as to when and how the hearing is conducted. That being said, it’s her choice at the end of the day, and we should respect that. It took courage to come this far. She has already been forced into hiding over this, and I certainly don’t wish any more pain on her or her family.

The Trump GOP Senate want to confirm Kavanaugh no matter what he has done and they like his lying under oath. Mendacity is a feature, not a bug, of today’s thoroughly corrupt GOP. The hearing is a sham, and they oppose an FBI investigation because they don’t want the truth.
The Trump GOP want their radical extremist far right wing judge, and they don’t want his sleazy past to interfere. In fact, they like it.

Postponement was always a longshot. Lawyer’s playing a bit of chess here, maneuvering to put the inquisitors in a bad light if they don’t even give her time to arrange adequate security for herself and otherwise prepare for what they themselves said would be a mock hearing by old men who have already decided.

Gosh…I don’t know which ‘tactic’ is more effective. Bringing Ford before the Senate to be demeaned and belittled by a bunch of old white men or have the SAME old white men insist that she do it THEIR way or they will appoint er ‘vote’ a predator onto the Supreme Court, a lifetime appointment.

She has as much chance of a fair hearing in front of those old white men as a black man in an Alabama courthouse in 1950. Just another fake deadline created in order to push forward another power grab. Now the entire process rests on getting to the “truth” which is, of course, ungettable after 35 years. Collins already shit the bed by saying she would vote to confirm because he assured her he would not overturn Roe. How often does she get to pull this “they promised me” crap?

Bust it is then. Kavanaugh is tainted and his denials at a charade hearing won’t clear his name. The Democrats should boycott the hearing, refusing to participate in the charade. The Democrats will keep the story alive and the beat the crap out of Republicans with the story through the midterms.

I’m on two minds:
- The Dems should boycott any Monday hearing. They had no input on scheduling or topics.
- Attend the hearing and pepper K with questions about gambling debts, how he can afford a $1.2 M house and, especially, all the salacious questions he drafted for Starr about Clinton.

rush a nomination and hide documents to force a white male molester on the court weeks before an election, hide as much as of his history a feasible because of his unsavory past, but DO NOT allow the voters an opportunity to decide.

I suspect one can only hope the dems will behave similarly when afforded an opportunity in the future, turnabout being fair play and all, but history has taught this one to expect to be disappointed in that regard
