“The billionaire businessman’s loyalists say enough time remains…”
I think the press should stop giving Trump a free pass on his “billionaire businessman” claim. He should be referred to as a “self-described billionaire” until he comes up with some proof that he really is one.
It’s like any other campaign claim, it we don’t know it to be true, don’t treat it like it is.
I wonder who Clinton is going to use as a stand-in for Trump in her debate prep. I’m not sure if that would be fun or psychologically scarring.
Others keeping Trump company this past week include former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
“We’ve always found it’s wise to have people traveling with him, because it’s an opportunity to have him engaged and not just sitting there,” Manafort said.
Wise people?
Huckabee and Giuliani?
Bwahahaa.
So now a pedophile apologist and lunatic rageaholic racist loon are now considered “wise men” by the useful idiot on the Ukrainian payroll.
Got it.
Unfortunately her grandkids are too young - and are better behaved anyway.
IOW: They keep him distracted and less likely to brood and launch Twitter strikes. Kinda like keeping an overly tired toddler happy until he just passes out from exhaustion.
This is exactly the kind of maturity we should seek in a national leader.
note to GOP: everything is just peachy. not to worry. just keep on keeping on.
Tell Eastwood to save that empty chair.
At the rate Trump is imploding, she may end up debating it.
And it’ll give her a better challenge than Trump.
“We’ve always found it’s wise to have people traveling with him, because it’s an opportunity to have him engaged and not just sitting there,” Manafort said.
Indeed. So reassuring to know that our potential next President needs a full time babysitter.
New cabinet position: Secretary of the Babysitting. Qualified candidates must do diapers.
George W. Bush’s Political Director: “There’s no chance [Trump’]s going to win. He’s losing groups of people he can’t get back.”
Those with functional brain stems.
A key demographic.
All of it, to some Republicans, should lead the party
to give up on its nominee.
The story in the NYT about Manafort should be big news tomorrow. I posted the same thing on another thread.
Every day of the week brings new revelations and major blunders from Fuckface Von Clownstick and his team of miniature clownsticks. tRump is a petulant child when things don’t go his way and he has a team of paid yes-men and yes-women that go out and defend the indefensible and regurgitate whatever new lies he tells.
Reminds me of a poetic parody I saw on the internet some time ago:
Monday’s child will slap your face,
Tuesday’s child is a disgrace,
Wednesday’s child stamps on your toe,
Thursday’s child just won’t go,
Friday’s child is most unforgiving,
Saturday’s child won’t work for a living,
And as for the child that’s born on a Sunday –
– they’ll tell you lies and steal your pay.
That about sums up the tRump campaign…
I’ll do it if they supply the drugs…
If you look at Trump through the lens of someone who wants to be president, his actions make no sense.
If you look at Trump through the lens of someone who wants attention, his ego stroked, and a way to further his own financial gains, it makes a lot more sense.
The GOP can NOT dump drumpf.
There are a number of reasons among them are;
The GOP base is way more whack a doodle now then they were in 96 ( rise of tea party, beck and other radio nutcases) and much more willing to believe “conspiracy” fantasies and they would react badly to drumpf being dumped.
Difference between Dole and Drumpf was that Dole did not inspire the base like drumpf has. Dole was a creature of the establishment and Washington. Drumpf has been driven by the base against the establishment and Washington. To dump him would be to reinforce their delusions and lead to desertations from the party.
Drumpf has no loyalty to the party and would scream bloody murder if the party dumped him. He would incite his supporters to unimaginable actions against the “traitors” in the GOP who dumped him.
The christianist’s have sacrificed any moral legitimacy in supporting drumpf and the GOP would be hard pressed to regain thier support.
That 10% or 20% of the GOP who are die hard drumpf followers would abandon the GOP, libertarian party is an alternative, and with out those supporters the GOP becomes a minority party for a number of cycles.
In the upcoming election cycles building up to the census and redistricting it is important that the GOp maintain thier edge in statehouses that is already a challenge but with the desertation of drumpf’s base would be hard to do.
For its own survival the GOP has to keep drumpf happy even if doing so leads to its wipe out in this cycle.
I think it was just a few weeks ago that a discussion about Trump bailing took place right here on TPM. Those that thought he would suspected “its all rigged” to be his excuse. Most said nahhh he wont quit. But if the GOP cuts Trump off I’d say the chances are damn good he bolts. It’s obvious he doesn’t want to do the debates and it seems he understands he’s likely to lose in November. That’s motive enough for an ego like his to look for a way out. What better than “well if you don’t support me why should I support you”?
If Trump wants out he just needs a few more gaffs and he’s got a doozy of an excuse to go.
These are the same Republicans who spent the previous five decades creating and running on wedge issues to divide the country, so they could target 50.1% of the vote.
So their problem with Trump isn’t divisive politics; it’s that Trump is uniting people against himself - and them.
GOP Could Be Near Trump Breaking Point; Frustration Abounds
This headline has got me happier than a worm in a cemetery ! ! —
“And at the end it’s either going to work or I’m going to you know, I’m going to have a very, very nice, long vacation.”
His children appear to be on vacation already.
Interesting timing.
How many candidate’s families and/or advisers take a vacation 90 days or less before the election?
Are they doing it because they think it doesn’t matter, or because they feel they need to?
Either reason is an interesting comment on their attitude towards their father’s candidacy.
Edit: I also haven’t heard how long they’ll be gone.
