Some of my distant relatives were here before this was a country, so why don’t you pack your shit and GTFO? You weren’t invited either.

and it’s a three-way tie! Steven King, Bob Fitzsimmonds and Steven Palazzo share the prize for “stupid, offensive congressman of the day.”

I wonder if he feels that way about everyone that has children here that aren’t citizens, or just the ones from countries bordering the equator.

Since these so called anchor babies are US citizens he is saying that the US should start deporting US citizens. What an idiot.

The next thing he will want to do is start deporting US citizens that don’t agree with him. That should go over real well.

This is further proof that conservatives need to be driven from office for the good of the nation - it would be illegal for his governor to send troops into Texas in the first place lacking an invitation from that governor in an actual emergency, which this not, and it would be illegal for his governor to place them under the command of the governor of Texas. The National Guard forces are a states army and they must be requested by the President in order to federalize them, there is no provision of law that allows governors to abdicate command of their forces to give them to another state.

He has no idea what he is asking for since he wants to nullify the birth right of citizenship of AMERICANS - after he does it to the children of immigrants it is a short step to nullifying the citizenship of born Americans like his ilk tried to do in the past.

I don’t think a Governor has the authority to activate and deploy the guard to a different State, do they ?

So much for that pro-life thing. These babies could be aborted . . . but of course that has nothing to do with life. Just that conservatives would rather have lots of babies to dispose of themselves, as vilely and inhumanly as possible.

I remember learning about the 14th amendment as a kid. There was an episode of Dragnet (I think) in which an undocumented woman comes into the US so that her baby would be born a US citizen.

That was considered a wonderful outcome on the show. I wonder if that episode is still shown anywhere in the US.

Come on dude - think BIG - let’s roll this back to 1868 - when the amendment was ratified. Now you may need to think about which States are going to be left in a lurch - as they weren’t States…but no big deal, right - this is all about Immigrants…sigh / snark
