Discussion for article #228016
Sad. Just sad.
Interesting. Surreal, even. So his pitch, in a democracy, is âI want to do things that are contrary to the best interests of a group I believe make up the majority of people in this countryâ, and he thinks that is a good pitch to make.
âHey half of the country, fâk you!â he then later added âBut I do want your vote. Although Iâm not sure what I can do for you since my plan just involves giving rich people tax cutsâŚso, I guess, fâk you!â
Republicans.
Just read the comments or Letters column in a suburban paper.
Itâs will become clear that a large number of people believe the myth that âhalf the population is supporting the other halfâ. Theyâll actually say that in those words.
This guy is exploiting the belief in that myth. Once one of these urban myths take hold it persists indefinitely and can be recycled multiple times. Like the Energizer Bunny. It goes and goes. I call it off-the-shelf propaganda.
I think the majority of members of the GOP believe this. Mitt (who doesnât strike me as a brave voice unless the issue polls well) felt very comfortable saying what he did because he and his buddies have been saying it for awhile. They probably just kept it in the quiet room using library voices but there is no doubt in my mind that they echo the sentiment.
The closed loop information system needs an occasional kick start to keep recycling the SOS.
The big moochers are his backersâŚmaybe itâs time to sit Romney and co down and tell them what happens to the 1% when they push the 47% down too often.
Weâll start the interviews with King Louis XVIâŚ
It was not true then and not true now unless you ignore reality and pull numbers out of your butt.
The nerve of those people thinking government should enact programs that benefit the overwhelming majority of the citizens rather than redistributing wealth upward to the top .1% What we need in this country is a good coup to put a stop to all this democratic madness.
No, you cannot.
lol. Of course they do! Romney is a politician, he isnât about to tell a room full of donors something they donât believe.
Oh they definitely do! Iâve been the recipient of a crazy, rambling, right-wing e-mail that looks like it could have been written by TPMâs resident satirist, regarding âotherâ people getting 'free stuff." I wrote back to my co-worker that that was hilarious and ridiculous, and never recieved another one of those again. But a large number of folks in my office, in a blue part of a purple state, believe that crap. Several radios here tuned in to Rush/Hannity.
Hardy has a learning disorder.
proof positive that wingers don;t have to be total idiots to run for elected office but it seems to be a necessary prerequisite for them to be clueless and venal throughout the processâŚ
Hardyâs comments only further highlight what everybody already knows. The Rightie GOPigs like Hardy support the same failed Republican policies Mitt Romney ran on that pull the rug out from under the middle class, while giving millionaires and billionaires more and more tax cuts.
A very notable âfreeloader who pays no taxesâ is Cresent Hardyâs very good friend, racist and lunatic rancher Cliven Bundy.
OhâŚand great campaign strategy there âCresentâ!
Fuck this guy.
King Louis XVI? Now you are getting a head of yourself.
Well, he might think that, but Iâm pretty sure that 47% isnât the majority.
Talk about an unforced error. Why canât these guys control their mouths?
