One of the reasons I think that there was so much universal outrage directed at the GOP and Trump, is that there was no way for the media to go to bothsiderism and false equivalency here. A few tried, but it was clear that only Trump was creating this human crisis and only the GOP was supporting it (with a few exceptions). No past Democratic administration has done anything like separating infants from patents.
The goal of the GOP is always to manipulate the media into accepting their bad faith arguments and proposals as genuine alternatives and policy. And that is precisely what is going on now.

- Breaking up families: Bad. OK, itās bad
- Keeping families together but in custody until case is heard: Bad. Why is this bad?
None of these people are going to get asylum. If your husband beats you for making bad tortillas, the answer is NOT to go to the USA for asylum.

It may shock some here, but we do NOT bear the White Manās Burden to Wipe the Butts of all Poor People in Central America. We have the obligation to treat them like adults. They need to solve their own problem. Got gang problems? Band together, kill the gangs. More gang problems? Kill more gang bangers.
Most liberals appear to believe that the child-like Central Americans wait for the Magnificent 7 to arrive to help them. I donāt hold with that. I am perfectly happy to allow them to deal with their own problems.

If its tRump, you can bet its going to end up being a lot of smoke and mirrors. The media is giving tRump and Sessions waaay too much credit for backing down. I donāt believe it for a minute. Nothing has been written or signed yet and the way I hear it, the media anchors really donāt seem to know how immigration law works then or now, including rightwing legal expert Pete Williams, who incorrectly attributed the Obama administration with a practice of separating children from their parents. I canāt stand his interpretation of this shit. He may be an expert on SCOTUS but this isnāt his forte. Theyāre actually making Cruz and Cottonās bills into something that will help alleviate this problem, when in fact it sneaks other odious measures that may very well reclassify legal immigration status as a criminal proceeding and expedite deportation even faster.

Well by metalist what I mean is if you go down to the bottom of the page and you see stories listed and it says āTPM article topicsā just click on that and a meta list should come up with the active topics with the most active at the top. You should be able to get into the conversation by clicking on it.

This has happened 3 days in a row and hundreds of times before. On Monday I wrote an email with āPlease turn the comments onā as the subject. it worked. try that, itās someone elseās turn.
