Well, let’s hope Google decides to stop being literally hypocritical and literally devoid of integrity.

Thanks. I am changing my default search engine right now. Hope more will do the same, and send the clear message that we expect more them.

It was my understanding that Google had announced they were PLANNING on leaving ALEC, not that they actually did it. The fact that they have more than this one tie to climate change denyers is not surprising at all.

Major Corporation defends it’s stock price (and CEO his Bonus) with hypocritical platitudes by saying one thing to the adoring fan-boys and doing another with it’s money.
News at 11.

Google is so successful at the playing both sides game that even when claiming they quit, they are just too hooked to really give it up.

Google is also, minus the privacy invasions and stuff like mentioned here, a good search engine. We can search all the information that backs up what true scumbags the Google boys are behind the scenes. Although, moving to DuckDuckGo is a smart idea and safe way to search and get the same results it is just sort of fun to use Google against Google.

Google execs are douches, yes, but proud douches.

A search engine can’t find you integrity or a soul

Google withdraw from ALEC now but it’s already too late. “Stand your ground” has already killed people needlessly and Google is apparently right in the middle of it.

I’m an employee of one of the top tech firms in the SF Bay Area. Our company likes to internally talk about how “green” we are, saving energy/water on our campus, and buildings covered with solar panels. However “we” also are a member of ALEC. And we also most likely hypocritically fund candidates and lobbying efforts who deny climate change etc.

This bothers me, but I also know that if my industry doesn’t take part in lobbying then we could get cut off at the knees by being out of the legislative process. That’s possibly my job and livelihood at stake. It’s a real shit sandwich.

If your job and your livelihood require you to support an organization so blatantly harmful to the public perhaps you should reconsider your employment.

I always use the engine that doesn’t track me.

tell that to my 5 kids and mortgage
