True - an immense jackass. But Gohmert bothers me particularly because he suckers the Texas pine belt Jesusheads with his 6000-year-old doctrine while making it easy for white collar swindlers to make easy grifts in his district. Ira Glass did an amazing episode of This American Life about the shit that goes on in Gohmert’s neck of the pines.

The United States has NEVER asked any African country to legalize same-sex marriage. (Or, for that matter, even to legalize homosexual sex.)
What Gohmert is talking about with regard to Boko Haram is that the U.S. was pressuring Nigeria not to make homosexual sex punishable by DEATH.
