The truth hurts, eh?
Yeah, difficult to see anything to sue about in that ad.
Consequences.
GM layoffs start today. I believe the first 4,000 leave today.
GM and other multinational corporate entities have the same loyalty to their employees that republikkkans have to the concepts of democracy and âpatriotismâ.
Sorry, Canada.
Sounds like Canada needs a southern border wallâŚ
GM says in a statement that the ad is misleading and inaccurate.
I am going to go with the Union guys on this.
Pretty easy to fact check this. Did GM get a Canadian bailout? Is the number accurate? Are they expanding operations in Mexico?
Pretty sure that will be Yes on all threeâŚhard to get that wrong. And if so, GM has nada.
WHY are they suing them? Because they hurt GMâs feelings? Huh?
Yep â the ad itself doesnât make much in the way of accusations other than âreally GM? This is your idea of gratitude?â No idea what basis there would be for suing, since itâs a black and white case of protected speech. Unless the union and GM signed some sort of mutual gag order as part of their latest contract, and it doesnât seem like thatâs the case.
Theyâre not accusing GM of doing anything illegal, or leveling any false accusation whatsoever. Consumers also have every right to boycott products they choose, for any reason â that pesky âconsumer sovereigntyâ concept that hard-core free-marketeers go on about until the instant it hurts their bottom line.
Itâs a better nation up north. Here in America, Tom Steyer was denied the opportunity to spend his money on an ad calling for Trumpâs impeachment.
Of course, in the US, the coverage is all about the company saying the ad is misleading and deceptive, ignoring the fact theyâve been doing the same thing to us.
Link to watch the ad?
Something that doesnât involve being a twit?
Sure, Jan. Why donât you get Rudy Giuliani or Jay Sekulow to file the lawsuit for you?
GM, shut up and make better cars.
âYa hosers!â
Gee, I can see major flooding occurring along both coasts of the US and Canada from all of the people shedding tears for those poor, libeled executives at General Motors.
The ad is disgusting because it pits Canadian workers against Mexican workers and in a nationalistic way. Itâs a way for Unifor leaders to look âtoughâ when in fact they are doing nothing but wasting their membersâ money with nationalistic whining. The auto industry is international and auto workers unions ought to start acting like it with united international militant action, rather than as tools, labor lieutenants, for their own capitalists. Ads like this are a symptom of why auto and many other unions canât win representation elections, let alone good contracts for their members across national lines.
All GM has to do is prove it in court that itâs false. Oh wait, but itâs twue, itâs twue!
