These “ambassadors” literally purchased their appointments. It’s not even arguable. This is corruption out in the open.
This is pay to play bribery.
During the general election - how many times did Trump claim that because of the Clinton Foundation that Hillary would do Pay to Play governance? All bullshit - and classic Trump Projection. Turn over every rock of accusation that he made and makes, and find a multitude of the same behavior on an exponentially bad scale.

Mar a lago members getting ambassadorships aren’t winning these sinecures because they are donors to Don the Con’s campaigns. They bribed Trump via their membership fees and other payments made to a private business owned by the person appointing them.
This is bribery, plain and simple.
In the old days — an Honest Politician was one who took the bribe, but stayed bought.

On the other hand, I guess anyone who can afford $200,000 to join Merde-a-lago is good for an ambassadorship.

At this point, Trump knows that it’s going to be an existential struggle to get him out of office. One more item on his rap sheet really does not concern him.
Given the type of allegiance of his followers, the addition of rap-sheet items will be seen to be a plus.
He is in a weaker (yet stronger) position than ever before (his horses are more desperate, we have the House). And whether that goes one way or another depends entirely on us as free people. Unlike Russia, we still have a number of social protections at our disposal.
Trump and his team are doing all they can to change that reality.

The President had claimed that investigations would slow the important work of the White House. Yet despite this, he has soldiered on to name these ambassadors. What stamina! What endurance!
No surprise here. He also turns over entire departments — think VA — to codgers with no experience in military, government or medicine simply because they coughed up their annual Grift-a-Lotto dues and, obviously, needed a hobby. All the best people, you know.

Pretty sure they won’t. That’s not how ambassadors work. Trump gets to pick ambassadors who represent the US.
