ā€œYou can’t replace a 4-star general with a 36-year old campaign manager ! What will people think ?ā€

ā€œOK, I will make Nick a 4-star general first, thenā€.

So, Trump is letting his VP, the guy who has the formal 25th Amendment duty to get the cabinet to declare him unfit, make his man the WH Chief of Staff, the guy who would handle the all the practical arrangements of his removal under the 25th. What could go wrong?

two senior aides departed the White House to beef up his 2020 campaign

Mysteriously, the press still says ā€œsenior aideā€ and ā€œsenior advisorā€ like it has real weight, as though there is some kind of expertise or hard-won knowledge. These are just Trump pets. They have zero qualifications, and often have at least one deal-breaking disqualification.

The WH is not The Apprentice, no matter how desperately the press wants it to be. It’s full of interchangeable shit people that nobody likes or cares about and with good reason.

Gee, what could go wrong here? The Rump chooses Vice President Dunce’s assistant with the encouragement of his own incompetent spawn and her equally incompetent husband. Once upon a time, there were a few people, Kelly and Mattis among them, with some brains and experience. Soon there will be nothing but Rump sycophants and his dim, crooked family advising him. Barr may have some experience, but I’d put money on the fact that he had to pledge his fealty to Rump before he was chosen. That’s an illegal act, but that’s what is wanted here by the man who admires Duterte and Oban and hates all democratically inclined leaders.

Hey, at this rate, I half expect Trump to Pardon Manafort to bring him back as his campaign manager. Why the hell not?

This has the added benefit of kneecapping Pence in case he gets any ideas. Pence twists in the wind while his CoS gets a promotion. That’s Trump…dividing and conquering.

I just got back from the Tambopata region of the Amazon. It was a wildlife photography thing but let me tell you about a guy there. He had 100’s of thousands of dollars worth of equipment. Camouflage clothing. Jungle this and jungle that. But he took shitty photos. He didn’t stop talking about himself or leaving his equipment propped up for other to envy. But he took shitty photos and frankly in that wildlife rich environment that’s hard to do. The reason was the guy’s a shitty photographer.

Trump can surround himself with the best. But he’s the guy tripping the shutter. He the guy cropping the image in the viewfinder and selecting the settings on the camera. Can be a Nikon, Canon or a Leica. He’ll take shitty photos. As long as he’s what the rest revolve around the whole show will be shitty. There’s no PolicyShop to fix bad policy.

Pence’s CoS to mold trump for pence, that’s what I see. Remember that tv show 30 Something? Hideous bunch of self centered angst ridden yuppies. They look heroic compared to gop 30 Something s

ā€œBetter call Nickā€ just doesn’t have the same ring to it. Maybe ā€œpick Nickā€? Or ā€œtallk to tricksie Nicksieā€?

That assistant Nick Ayers was Eric Greiten’s top political adviser. Seems to be as sleazy as Greitens.

Like the mafia, to be a high-level Republican, you have to make your bones…and the bigger the crime, the greater the respect. That’s why Ryan, McCarthy, et al were asking for omertĆ .
