They are openly winking to Manafort that if he just sits tight and keeps his mouth shut that Trumper will take care of him just ā€œNot at this timeā€ (wink) (wink)

I think it just means that rudi has no idea what heā€™s talking about as usual.

Trump wonā€™t pardon him, he needs a ā€˜bestieā€™ when he goes to join him in prison.

Does not matter if Spanky gives Manafort a pardon. If Manafort failed to claim his total income on the Fed tax form he certainly did not claim all his income on his state tax form either. The state can go after him for tax evasion also.

Good point, but the federal taxes are usually the big kahuna. State taxes (usually) are a fraction of federal taxes.

I would be shocked if the Orange Goo wound not give Manafort a pardon, and soon. He is already setting the stage. Congress needs to change the laws on Presidential pardons before this gets beyond ridiculous.

If they pardon him now, wouldnā€™t that affect the DC case?

Trump is shamelessly holding out the possibility of a pardon, which is disgusting, and saying ā€œI feel very badly for Paul Manafort.ā€ If Manafort flips, one wonders what Donnie will say about him.

Taint isnā€™t taint! Pardon isnā€™t pardon!

Hinting in any way to Manafort that a pardon is on the horizon is going to bring PP a world of hurt that he has no idea exists, obstruction of justice for one. It could also lead to PP being indicted after he leaves office for issuing pardons. Rudy knows less than PP so weā€™re listening to dopes enjoying the coverage theyā€™re getting

legal experts say that such pardons, coupled with other actions, could increase Mr. Trumpā€™s risk of prosecution for obstruction of justice. Abuse of the pardon power could also be grounds for impeachment.

Might take an amendment to the Constitution. This is the eleventy-kajillionth instance of Trump violating long-standing norms where the laws donā€™t speak to the issue. (He violates at least twelvity-five laws a day, too.)

Imagine.

Of course heā€™s not. Manafort has at least one more trial to lose before Trump will pardon him.

While this hard working Congress which exists only in our imagination works on changing pardon laws, they could also get to work on eliminating the EC and working on that dormant Equal Rights Amendment.

@raincntry

Not the first voice saying this could drive PP to resign.

Would Trump resist a plea bargain more than anyone else in his inner-circle? Does he have the spinal fortitude to risk a five-year jail term and a good chunk of his personal fortune for the chance of saving his political career and the undying love of his political base?

Thatā€™s because he mulled and decided the day Paulie was indicted. If Iā€™m those two, Iā€™m more worried about Russian Roulette.

Trump is not considering pardoning his former campaign chairman ā€œat this time.ā€

Other things Trump is not considering ā€œat this timeā€:

  • Immediate and open-ended admission to the Minsk Institute for Advanced Bone-Spur Therapy.
  • Twelve more buckets of Extra-Crispy.
  • A ā€œbig, beautiful, very classyā€ perm.
  • Staring into the sun.
  • Binge screaming.
  • Hiding in Hannityā€™s tool shed ā€œuntil the voices stopā€.
  • Dying in prison.

Manafort better flip soon if he wants a sweet deal because Cohen already implicated Trump in at least two felonies and appears anxious to tell the Special Counsel about more, including computer crimes and conspiracy with Russia. Manafort needs to move ASAP.

If mulling means thinking, this has nothing to do with Trump.

So in other words he is because everything Rudy says is the opposite of what Trump plans.
