Well, Rudy, hate to break it to you (NOT), but Michel Cohen is up next, and he won’t be Trump’s only personal lawyer that finds his or her next home in jail.
Remember that.

Just “talking to witnesses.” About their families, the weather, the Yankees – oh, and getting their stories straight.
“Things might get cleaned up with some
presidential pardonstreason convictions.”
Fixed.
Pardons can only happen after convictions. Then the person pardoned plead the 5th.
So you have to give someone a chance to kill a witness before you can lock them up for witness tampering? Is that written down somewhere? Like…in a book that the judge could read? Would Manafort’s attorneys have access to such information? Because it seems to me that they would just say “page 35, your honor: 1st paragraph” and that would be that. There might be something else that I don’t understand.
Seriously…I remember way back when the first talk of pardons began. There was some discussion about what accepting a pardon would obligate a person to do. Is there anything like that? Is there an obligation to cooperate after a pardon? Could serial pardons be issued for the same person? (If, for example, he were to be held in contempt of court.)
Which is why Manafort was trying to hide these communications he was explicitly forbidden to have? Because they are just fine?
S’okay. S’all good. There’s a pardon waiting for him on the other side.
What kind of attorney is this guy? Isn’t this statement, “When the whole thing is over, things might get cleaned up with some presidential pardons,” an ethical violation? Doesn’t it show intent to obstruct?
Yes
It sure is.
Trump’s the client. Rudy probably looking to be the new AG as payment since Trump contractors usually get stiffed.
Nothing shouts “Obstruction!” quite like the public promise of a future pardon to potential prosecution witnesses.
Rudy Giuliani: A noun, a verb, and criminal obstruction of justice.
Beg Pardon?
Did he just say what I thought he did?
What a terrible thing to have lost one’s mind. Or not to have a mind at all. How true that is.
I just knew that was going to follow…
Dowd had to bail because of the pardon shopping, so Spanky just found someone who was less embarrassed about it.
Some enterprising reporter (hint, hint) should look into how many people Giuliani charged with witness tampering while he was a US Associate AG.
So now we’re going to cut off the investigation AND pardon everyone. Why do just one when you can do both!
They’re just following the lead of the Dems.
Yup. Unless he’s talking about the prospect of Pence pardoning Trump, of course.
It’s striking how many of the attorneys representing the bad guys in this stuff are from the “I can speak and act with total impunity!” end of the bar, the guys who think they’re so rich and connected and important that there are no consequences.
