The Pestilent can’t be indicted, but Don Jr, Kushner, Cohen and the rest of the sewer rats can.

So I guess that means that Trump is “innocent”.
But then why are they all so worried and want to shut Mueller down?

I can’t imagine that Mueller acknowledged anything of the sort to Giuliani, who hasn’t exactly shown himself to be particularly adept at the law.

This is Trump trying to change a really bad couple of news cycles starting with Kim, China trade, Mueller’s successes in court, the transcript releases, Qatari revelations, Roger Stone subpoena…and I almost forgot…his pending referral for investigation for lying about the Stormy Daniels payment.

…but all your siblings, employees, enablers and friends? Well, that’s another matter.

That leaves everyone else, Rudy. Including you.

“All they get to do is write a report,” Giuliani told CNN. “They can’t indict. At least they acknowledged that to us after some battling, they acknowledged that to us.”

Whew! What a relief (said the innocent man)

Mueller can indict everyone else. I’m not a lawyer but my sense all along has been that Mueller can only send the results of his investigation to Congress. It’s up to them to act with regard to the President. Mueller will get a big thank you as they stuff the report in their pockets and say who cares.
It’s why the Dems need to take over the House.

We’ve updated to reflect that “Mueller’s Team” said this, using CNN’s wording

Oh for Pete’s sake, who cares what Rudy says anymore in these spastic word patterns. He’s running purely on primitive brain function. No cortical contributions whatsoever.

If true, that sucks.

It’s not about whether prosecutors “can” indict a sitting president.

It’s not about whether Mueller could win the Constitutional battle that would ensue if he did, which is far from settled.

It’s about whether he wants to trigger that battle in the first place because the issue is far from settled, or whether he has decided there are other routes to the same destination that don’t involve that kind of needless distraction.

Spoiler alert: There are.

I’ve been reading this from other sources well before Giuliani started yapping.
Again I’m no legal expert.

Poor, poor Rudy. He’s starved for attention. Sound familiar??

At some point I imagine the SCOTUS will get brought into this???

Hmm…

So Mueller writes a report that firmly places unethical, criminal and traitorous behavior on the head of the §resident. ANd he cannot be indicted by Mueller. So if it is released, I guess we all go home and consider it a done deal. Right Rudy. No effect at all.

except…

I think it will pull every thread in the Trump sweater and unravel it all. He might be §resident, but his entire world will start imploding.

What’s sad is I pointed this out a few months back on Twitter and got shit on by fellow progressives. It isn’t settled law (i.e. even tried in the courts) but it is indeed the DoJ Office fo Legal Counsel’s opinion on the matter.

There’s some debate about whether a sitting President can be indicted – mostly because it never occurred to anyone that it would ever come up…

As has been said in many different ways, Trump can eat barbecued christian babies on TV (with catsup of course) and it won’t effect Trump’s support from his base OR Republicans in Congress.
