You know how when the heroes are trapped one of them will say, “We need to create a diversion,” right? Rudy is a human diversion-creating machine. You tell him some crazy thing to say and push him out the door. It’s been obvious ever since he showed up as the putative “president’s lawyer” that this was his only role.

If Giuliani weren’t a moldy brain in a jar at this point, he’d at least be smart enough to say something like “the campaign is not aware of any contact Manafort ever had with Julian Assange”, which could at least theoretically be true. Saying that something nearly unfalsifiable is “unequivocally fake” is intellectually inchoate and dribbly.
How did they defrost Rudy that quickly, though?
My theory remains that he either finally got a target letter or else became aware Mueller has iron-clad evidence of systemic cooperation with Russia. Or both.
Guiliani also denies Trump has ever had sex with any of the women coming forth and publicly accusing him of doing so.
Find me anyone on the planet that would second that denial were their life on the line for being mistaken.

So, really, how the fuck would he know whether Paul Manafort had extensive communication with Julian Assange, unless he and the rest of Trump’s crony circle were all in on the plan.
Let us remember that on FOX News, Giuliani predicted the Wikileaks dump of DNC emails.
