I’m sorry but her ego got in the way of her responsibility to the country. She absolutely should have resigned under Obama, especially after the Merrick Garland travesty. Once an 80-something person falls, it’s generally the beginning of the end. Donald Trump is the luckiest goddamn person in the world and apparently there is no karma.
What would that have accomplished? The Senate was not going to confirm any Justices for Obama at the end of his term. They stalled Garland. How would Obama have gotten a Ginsburg replacement confirmed AFTER Garland’s failed nomination?
After the Merrick Garland travesty? There would’ve just been two seats stolen if that had been the case.
While I wish she would have stepped down when Obama still had a Dem Senate, after “the Merrick Garland travesty” would have been a little late in the game for reasons that should be self evident.
Why are we second guessing her? She’s awesome and we need a plan. Can the House do anything? I know they don’t have advisory powers here.
