Discussion: Ginsburg Cancels Two Scheduled Talks Following Cancer Surgery

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: this scares me more than anything else right now.

Probably not a good time to be flying now anyway. Healing up or not.

“Ginsburg underwent surgery in December to remove cancer in her lungs.”

I’d crawl over broken glass, run a mile on severed stumps, and claw out my own donor organs if necessary…

Watch the media and the internet blow this out of proportion.

Rest and recover, Notorious RBG, rest and recover…

ok, I get this, but it’d sure be nice to have window sighting, like the Pope.

She’s got a lot of years on me and I would have cancelled any unnecessary appointments. That said

:fearful:

I don’t know that this scares me more than anything else right now . . . but it is certainly on the list, and not far from the top at the moment. (Please take care of yourself, RBG, we need you.)

Dear Lord, hear our prayer…

RBG’s surgeon was on Maddow a few nights ago and he stated that this was a routine surgery and that RBG is going to be fine.

Glad that she is prioritizing her own recovery. Shows there is no brain damage.

I don’t know if anyone’s considered what it’s like to have been cut through the chest wall and into the lung but it’s a painful surgery, and not an easy recovery. Just to think of performing the exercises to regain lung capacity, after the lung has been cut, is enough to make me wince. And at Ginsberg’s age, I think it wise for her to take it as slowly and carefully as necessary. Let’s not be alarmed until we need to be.

Sounds to me like that’s exactly what she’s doing. I’d much rather her stay home, give herself plenty of time to recover, and most importantly, stay well than for her to do any of these unnecessary events. I just need her to live!

Happening here, ain’t it? I thought we had taken a collective deep breath and moved on.

Thank you! Feeling much better.

Can’t we like put her in a private suite in Walter Reed for the next two years?

With armed guards at the doors, bomb-sniffing dogs on regular rounds, and a permanent rotating team of doctors and nurses at the ready?

Like ‘Typhoid Mary’?

That IS a lot of schlepping around on airplanes, cars, hotels, people exposures. Good choice, dear one.
