Discussion: Gillum: 'Let Me Be Articulate And Clear: We're Better Than This In Florida'

Just read they weren’t really crazy about the line, but they left it in the script as a placeholder and nobody thought of something better. Ended up he put on his gravestone, “I’m a writer, but nobody’s perfect.”

It’s funny how many things look like they were carved in stone to us, but they were really accidents, or like you said - “Eh, it works”

Zackly. Now it’s a classic, couldn’t be otherwise, but it was very provisional when they did it and they were taking a lot of scary chances.

And speaking as one who lives among the mugwumps North of Orlando in Redneckistan . Potential , but not likely.
They are Faux nation effectively brainwashed who think Trump is doing just fine.
They open their mouth and outcomes a Faux talking point
During the election it was friggin torture
Oh I’m not that crazy about Trump but I could never vote for Hillary because shes crooked.
I will have to rely on the Parkland kids who are generating votes at a phenomenal rate along with the African Americans and Urban Libruls to bail out the state

We may have a better chance in Florida now the courts killed the Gerrymander
Last State election 55% of the votes cast were Democrat and we got 1/3 of the seats

Just hope that this does not turn into another episode of Democrat’s snatching defeat from the jaws of victory?.

Nice remark, Mr. Gillum.

Getting out there to talk to people in order to get a better understanding of what they need and want. That’s representative government.

In contrast, Republicans come as a minority who claim to have the ideology that will engineer society to a “rightness.”

I’m voting Democratic.

Beto’s first ad. If you go to Ted Cruz’s Twitter feed, every post attacks Beto. Beto’s message on the other hand is inclusive and positive. Doesn’t even mention Ted Cruz. Texas, if you don’t want Beto, the rest of the country would surely like to have him.

And if Florida doesn’t want Gillum, can we have him in Illinois?

Has Ms. Graham endorsed Mr. Gillum yet?

I don’t know about a formal endorsement, but she was out with a tweet either the night of the election or the morning after that was solidly behind him.

This is why Democrats lose elections. If Gillum had mispoke the indegnation from Republicans would be deafening and the would use all there tools to define Gillum. Hear the Republican makes an obvious and intentional racist slur and the Democrat says helps him off the mat by saying “you are better then…”. This racist slur uttered intentionally at the very start of the race should rightly be used to define Republicans. The overwhelming support for Donald Trump by Evangelicals proves that values in front of the word voter is and has always been code for race.

Yes, full tilt.

I grew up with a very polite nice racist as a father. One of the most frequent thing I remember him saying whenever an African American was in tv was “he talks good for a n$&&er, don’t be?” It’s more like a blaring car alarm to people like me than a dog whistle.

Let’s all be happy and relieved that DeSantis didn’t make any comments about Gillum’s sparse and thrifty spending on his campaign.
