Mr Gillum, i don’t think so. Apparently your opponent is not above dog whistles. Not that we in Arizona are any better. Certainly America needs to do better

I would agree that there is a potential to be better than this, in Florida, or the whole country. Whether or not this potential is fulfilled remains to be seen.

Cool, pointed, concise. Didn’t get dragged into the gutter but didn’t dodge the issue. I like this guy.

Michael Steele and Donna Edwards were Not Having It with the “monkey up” comment, or the “he’s articulate” and a “good performer” crap, and said of course it’s racist. Steele said that’s how some white folk talk about black people who are successful, like it’s a surprise that they could be articulate.

O in the south, you do not ever say an African American is articulate unless you want everyone to know you’re a racist. That has been as loaded a term as “boy” for a very long time.

I would just like to take this opportunity to remind everyone, once again, that Chuck Todd is the David Gregory of Mark Halperins.

That is all.

I’m waiting on the first “uppity” campaign ad by DeSantis…

Reading his bio, he’s been a super high achiever since his high-school days. People like this can often shrug off attempts to slur them because they’ve spent a lifetime just not having time for it. Any dirt you throw somehow boomerangs right in your own face. If this is the best DeSantis has, I think this guy’s going to be a Senator next year.

This race will inevitably turn into Gillum vs. Gollum…

The GOP is such a moribund outfit that even their dirty tricks are just falling apart like cardboard in the rain. Ted’s attempts against Beto are just comical they’re so weak. And this stuff is just plain garden variety racism like the year is 1958.

Pretty pathetic and pretty demonstrative of what they’ve got left - which is the ragged end of ratwing.

In other News of the Weird, Trump just tweeted that North Korea is under pressure from China because of our trade disputes but he doesn’t think we need to spend huge amounts of money on joint maneuvers we could start them up again “bigger than before” if we wanted but he has a warm relationship with Kim. Also with Xi! These two countries that are fucking our shit all up are nevertheless warm friends and everything’s gonna ju-ust fi-ine.

OT -this is just evil. U.S. citizens born in the U.S…A having to hire immigration attorneys.

I love it! The country needs more people with good values, even tempers and quick wits. I hope enough Floridians feel the same.

Has anyone ever heard the phrase “monkey this up” before? I’ve heard about “throwing a monkey wrench into” something, but never this particular phraseology. To me it’s very clear that phrasing, although it will be argued that it is aimed at policy positions, is nothing of the sort. Way too tortured, parse it and is stating that a monkey is the one who would be implementing those policies.

De(minus)Santis thinks it’s cute to dress his infant child up and propagandize him to get votes, now this. Hopefully the disgusted and the hopeful will outweigh the racists and venalina few weeks.

I’d like to think that we’re better than this, and we were three million votes better than this in 2016, but one of the states we lost was Florida.

I cannot imagine how frightening it is for U.S. citizens of Mexican descent to have their U.S. passport seized at the border or denied renewal by the State Dept. Who is next?
