Discussion for article #228499
These Republicans must know hardly anyone pays attention to what they say. In my mind this is scandalous.
Ex-CEO David Perdue said (Via Captain Subtext) “Hey, I’m glad to be an unpatriotic traitor to America! Now let me into politics so that I can rewrite our laws so that other unpatriotic traitors like me can get away with being unpatriotic traitors!”
Probably outsourched the manufacture of those “Support our Troops” pins and magnets his customers love so much.
Just a rehash of the GOP/Teatroll position that “if you want your jobs back, you’re going to have to accept being paid and treated like Chinese and Indonesian slave labor. Otherwise, the shit’s staying there unless and until someone tells us it can’t or legislates it into costing more.”
If only taxes on rich people weren’t so outrageously high, they wouldn’t have to outsource.
They’d still do it, but because it’s fun, not because they’d have to. So it’s all Obama’s fault, really.
I think Michelle’s found herself a good issue!
basically a big F-Off to the American worker.
“I think the issue that people get confused about is the loss of jobs,” Perdue said. “This is because of bad government policies: tax policy, regulation, even compliance requirements. It puts us at a competitive disadvantage with the rest of the world. Even today, right now this administration has policies going on that are decimating industries today [sic].”
Oh Suure…loss of jobs is all about tax policy, regulation and compliance requirements, but according to Perdue it had nothing to do with his prime responsibility as an CEO outsourcer. You outsource American workers’ jobs to another country but that doesn’t cause job loss??? See? Its plain as the wink on his face. That’s what you call some twisted pretzel logic. And it makes no fucking sense…but wingnuts eat that shit up because boogah, boogah, regulations that protect workers are the bane of their thinking and their existence when it comes to jobs for working-class folks in this country.
Here’s Perdue’s Theme Song:
Send tons of moderate to low paying jobs overseas -
then express outrage & disgust at the unemployed - denigrate them and demean them for being leeches sucking off of the more prosperous.
why are republicans always proud of achievements that harm the 99% at the expense of the 1%? right now he’s losing to nunn, and with comments like that, I sed why
The man is proud of killing good American jobs and says that is the way of business. Of course the reasons for the action are somebody else’s fault. Figures does it not??
This should be a major issue. First, they outsource, then lay off tech and manufacturing workers. Next, deny unemployment benefits and cut job training programs and other assistance. Last, berate the lazy workers who can’t find jobs (or can’t live on what jobs in the “new” economy provide). Not only should Perdue be defeated as a traitor to the country, it’s time to throw Congressional outsourcers of all stripes out of office.
I believe the next debate is tomorrow night. Ought to be interesting.
What’s wrong with sending US jobs offshore? Repugs think that’s the way business is done. We’ll see how smart Georgia is on this one. I’m guessing it won’t bother most of the rednecks there.
He’s absolutely right, if it weren’t for paid sick leave, paid holidays, employee healthcare, government benefit programs, roads, public education, social security, taxes for border security, the armed forces, progressive tax structures, public safety (police and fire), sewers, drinking water systems, corporate subsidies, off-shore tax shelters, and the estate tax US business would be incredibly more competitive internationally by moving toward their goal of paying employees $1 a day.
I love it when US executives have a goal of treating their employees like they do in Communist/authoritarian/developing countries like China, Malaysia, the Phillipines, etc. Makes me proud to be an American.
Hey, as long as they have a large source of low-paid low-skill workers to do things like trim their garden, wash their clothes, cook their food, they’re happy.
Mitt Romney Jr!
But he’s a Republican in Georgia, so there’s likely zero fallout from anything he could say / do.
