Who does this kind of shit? Now the Georgia Republican Party does the dirty work of the NRA?
It’s unfathomable.

GA will not do such thing. Because Michigan will offer Delta to move to the old NWA headquarters in Detroit.

“The paper noted that Cagle, who serves as Senate president, said the state shouldn’t help corporations that “kowtow to the type of political pressure that comes against conservative values.””

Deep irony. Also, tax cuts as a tool of economic development are dumb anyways.

Y’all think Delta HQ needs Georgia more than Georgia needs Delta HQ, hmm?

It’s a bold strategy, Cotton. Ask the Twin Cities (Northwest) or Tempe (US Airways) or St. Louis (TWA) or Houston (Continental) how hard it is for a major carrier to pull up roots.

Wow, so the GOP isn’t even pretending to represent the people over the NRA.

Delta should kowtow to pressure for “wingnut values”. I agree that those corporate tax breaks should go away, but I am not sure discounts for NRA members is the hill Georgia wants to die for.

“If Delta can afford to write off the travel business of all those folks, they clearly don’t need a special tax break from Georgians.”

Let me make sure I understand this.

Unless Delta kowtows to the demands of Georgia’s GOP congresscritters demands to give discounts to NRA members nationwide then the state of Georgia will rescind their tax break.

Uh HUH! UnFingbelieveable.

I hear Seattle is a great place to headquarter an airline, just ask Alaska Airlines.

Someone who’s running for Governor, and who has miscalculated. Delta’s pretty popular in Georgia.

How Delta should respond: “Excuse us while we move to another state and take our jobs with us.”

What if a bakery refused to bake a cake for a party at a meeting of the NRA?

He just tied the two together such that if Delta caves, GA residents are essentially paying Delta to give price breaks to NRA members.

Thanks for the talking point, fuckface.

Go go gadget non-failing Dem messaging…?

If Delta wants to play hardball it could do a world of economic hurt to Atlanta…

With 33,000 employees statewide, Delta is the Georgia’s No. 1 private employer. Delta has added more than 6,500 Georgia employees since 2008. Delta is one of Georgia’s most powerful engines for economic growth

Delta contributes $300 million annually to Georgia state and local governments through taxes and fees.

Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport generates $58 billion in annual economic impact - much of it fueled by Delta’s investments.

Delta to Georgia: Cool, we’ll just move our Headquarters out of your state and take X tens of thousands of jobs with it…

There’s a reason why State Legislatures bend over backwards to fellate companies with tax breaks, it’s because those companies bring jobs and tax dollars into the state. My bet is that Delta doesn’t blink first.

Delta should just tell the Georgia GOP they will move their HQ to Chicago or New York. That’ll shut them up.

“GA candidate promises to force GA residents to pay for NRA discounts on Delta flights if elected.”

C’mon, is this so fucking hard, Dems?

Delta doesn’t have to be based in Atlanta. Texas lured away American.

How many well-paid NRA employees are working and living in the Atlanta area? I think that’s probably zero. Methinks Cagle doesn’t know who is paying his salary.

Or better yet, Delta just opens its own SuperPAC and takes out an add against every GOP rep in the State: “Representative X said they’d rather Delta leave their state than stop school shootings…”

Time to make Citizens United cut both ways…

Delta should only kowtow to political pressure from politicians like me!
