If you’re wondering, the current temperature in Hell is 32 degrees ƒ.

Donald won’t be pleased…

I am no fan of GWB, but he looks better day by day…

I remember when W was the worst president ever. Good times.

It’s about time that some of the folks at the top of the GOP begin taking some action and positions against the Two Scoops Maladministration.

Hmmm. Saying that politics is susceptible to conspiracy theories sounds like a swipe at the Dems to me.

Good for W

Today if I saw one of those old “miss me yet?” billboards for Dubya, I’d say “you betcha”…

Right. Because of all those Democrats screaming, “Benghazi!”

Fuck GWB. This war criminal and Dick(head) Cheney need to be prosecuted for torturing people. I don’t care that he seems to be making a bit of sense (broken clock is right twice a day…), he’s responsible for killing thousands of innocent Iraqis and thousands of US military. He went AWOL from Reserve service. Zero credibility and I don’t want him becoming even a temporary “spokesperson” for our side.

“Bigotry or white supremacy in any form is blasphemy against the American creed,”

When you’re right, you’re right.

I was at an international security conference two weeks ago where he spoke. He obliquely raked Trump* over coals at every opportunity. Some of the more interesting quotes from Bush’s speech:

America was in an isolationist period before WWII. And the world gets dangerous when America tells the world ‘you figure it out’. America told its’ closest ally, England, you figure it.

We abandoned England.

Echoes of the past today (pre-WWII), we must reject it.

Leadership means not building a movement around a person, but an idea.

The human condition elsewhere matters to our national security.

The danger of power is thinking that it makes you the smartest person.

Half the CIA are intellectuals.

(Surprised how rational Bush sounded- talked about a world where Lincoln let the South secede.)

Leaders have to elevate the tone.

The power of Democracy is more important than the person in the presidential office.

I’m glad to see him speaking up today.

As President, he was bad

As Ex-President, he’s been pretty good.

George W. Bush was a horrible horrible President. He cost America dearly in lives and treasure. He pays lip service to freedom while his record is one of torture, wars of aggression, and the rich stealing from the poor. He speaks of democracy granting legitimacy, yet he came to office by way of a stolen election.

And, like most Republicans, he doesn’t have the guts to call Trump out by name.

While he gave this speech, more moderate / establishment / sane Republicans endorsed Roy Moore. Just last week Bush headlined an event for Ed Gillespie, who is running television ads in which the words Kill, Rape, Control are superimposed over a still shot of Latino gangsters.

Don’t bother next time.

think what you will about GWB, he likely deserves all of it, as POTUS and since he has repeatedly spoken out against bigotry and was maybe the lone voice in the GOP speaking out against anti-Islamic bigotry in the wake of 9/11.

Could he have done more? I’m sure and his relationship with Karl Rove was often at odds with his anti-bigotry rhetoric. But this is not new for him.

He seems like a damned eloquent speaker compared to Drumpf, eh?

I certainly hope the wily Russkies don’t send some Pied Piper here to bamboozle us! We’re all so easily duped and susceptible to conspiracy theories!

Fair point. Also to the Dems credit, most of the leadership has distanced itself from the Russia-trump conspiracists in recent months.

I’m wondering if this is a “softening up” for impeachment.
