Yep. Here are just a few recent examples. What I find even stranger than this strange couple is how this hasn’t put KAC in a very uncomfortable position in the White House. What’s going on?
My guess is that the White House writ large recognises that their ‘angry, deplorable’ voter base and more importantly Fox News doesn’t have the bandwidth to appreciate Mr Conway.
I’ve been working and interacting with various lobbyists for decades. She is not that much of an outlier for an industry lobbyist. She’ll be fine post-Trump, as long as she remains unindicted.
Just imagine what the children are like. “Dad Mom is saying crazy things again!” “Our teachers marked up our homework papers because when mom helped us with them they were filled with alternative facts”
What a strange couple. It’s like an extreme version of James Carville and Mary Matalin. But it’s so extreme that I wonder if it’s all just a pro-wrestling style act.
I believe Peggy Guggenheim described one of her marriages as “Fighting all day, F*cking all night” ?
Which, to her dubious credit and society’s lamentable shame, is pretty much exactly what the job of a political flack is, these days: espouse no position of your own. Be the mouthpiece for the officeholder, and never ever deviate from their statements, no matter how wrong, irrational, or inconsistent they may be.
She’ll find work after this. If nothing else, she’ll be able to point to this and her time w/Cruz to say ‘I faithfully represented the position of my principal, without injecting my own opinion into the discussion.’
Yeah, expect her to have a book deal and manuscript ready absolutely the minute everything implodes. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if most of what she does after work these days is update relevant chapters. Nor would it be a shock to find out there’s already an editor lined up, proofing the early draft.
Especially thought-provoking section from the article:
And not only that, the special counsel regulations can be unilaterally revoked by the very executive branch that unilaterally created them. Indeed, according to Attorney General Janet Reno when she issued the special counsel regulations in 1999, those regulations aren’t even subject to notice-and-comment rulemaking, because they relate to “matters of agency management or personnel,” and “agency organization, procedure, or practice”—which suggests they could be dispensed with equally unceremoniously as well.
(emphasis mine)
I wonder whether this guy is trying to steer Trump & co away from an obviously-flawed strategy and toward an effective one: something like a Saturday Night Massacre.
After all, I doubt the bought-and-paid-for GOP congress would vote to impeach even if Trump were to do “the unthinkable” and fire people until he found a Fox viewer who was willing to immediately terminate the probe.
There are a lot of people in Trump’s world who are stupid. But there are carpetbaggers who aren’t. She says crazy stuff, because that works. But she’s not stupid. She plays a few moves ahead always.
I think Kellyanne is on the same page w/ Conway. I’ll bet she’s spoken w/ Mueller (about the Mercers and DTard) and I’ll bet she is one of the main leaders.
Conway is trying to save his/their careers, post Trump WH.
