Its a good day when bigots amount to nothing but a temporary inconvenience.

ā€œAnd Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.ā€

Kim Davis thinks she knows better than Jesus. There’s a word for this – arrogance. Here’s another verse from the Bible: ā€œPride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.ā€

Glad to hear that William Smith and James Yates got their marriage license! Perhaps the clerk who was in tears will notice that God didn’t strike her dead for doing her job as a public servant.

It’s a shame this couple can’t recover damages and expenses for Kim Davis’s violation of their Civil Rights.

Holding a sign that says ā€œWelcome to Sodom and Gomorrah,ā€

Shit, that motto should have been on every Kentucky border sign long ago!

I can’t help but feel the tiniest bit bad for bigots and the small-minded when their world begins to collapse around them. But only a tiny bit. They’ll get over it, eventually. And so many congratulations to the happy couples. Beyond well-deserved.

The ā€˜months long standoff’ hasn’t ended. It’s in a brief pause.

I hope those marriage licenses are legal. I’ve read elsewhere that may be questionable.

Congratulations Bill & Jim! Plus, you have a collectible ($$$) license!!!

So, did God strike the Clerk’s office with a mighty thunderbolt yet?

Kimmi’s signature is placed on the license using an auto-sign. She never personally signed one. The auto-sign will be used on these as well, just like it has been used in the past when a deputy issued a license.

Is that true? I thought part of the issue was her refusal to allow her signature. That’s what I understand may make these licenses non-compliant. The judge said he didn’t know if the licenses issued would stand scrutiny.

She refused to allow her deputies to use the auto-sign.

ā€œJoe Davis said his wife would not resign from her position and would stay in jail for as long as it takes.ā€ We’ll see how strong her four-year-old convictions are. As anyone who has experienced it can attest, a night in jail is no fun. I cannot imagine what weeks are like, but it’s surely enough time for Jesus to suggest to her an effective alternative.

It ain’t that we’re agin them homosexuals. We LOVE all of God’s children. Because in every human body, no matter how sinful, is a tiny, adorable, li’l sole made in the Good Lord’s image. It’s just that we don’t lahk them soddomites flauntin’ their sinfulness around and turning God’s soldiers into martyrs. William and James, you will dah in hellfahr and brimstone unlessin’ you repent! God will strahk you down with a mighty smote of his powerful sword! But we du love you, we truly do.

I’m all for Kim becoming the Padre Pio of the recently shriven fundies…

She told the judge her mother-in-law pleaded with her to go to church from her deathbed four years ago…

Damn controlling parents

ā€œI’m a preacher’s daughter and this is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do in my life.ā€

ā€œI don’t hate anybody,ā€ she added. ā€œNone of us do.ā€

Perhaps you should take a deep breath, find a quiet place, and think about why your aversion to LGBTs is so strong while other prohibitions of your Bible can be casually ignored.

No, but he liberally glittered it.
