Pretty round about way to trash a new union shop with ridicule…a big lunch may be the least of LLC editor expenses.

How many “clicks” is that?

Eh, tacky, but at least it went to a tip.

Mature, aren’t we.

Keeping things classy, I see. Some people just can’t pass a bridge without burning it afterwards. I’m sure potential employers won’t see this as any kind of red flag.

Well, you know, actually it’s about ethics in gaming journalism.

Excellent tipper! He and his corporate credit card would be welcome in any establishment.

At least he left a great tip.

I don’t get why people are losing their minds over the Gawker post. It’s one thing if Geitner were an average closeted man living with his parents and Gawker outed him. But I have no respect for a married guy who pays sex workers (whether they’re male or female) for sex–possibly putting his wife at risk. Geitner gets to live the straight-white-male life of privilege. Some of us, like myself as a black women, don’t have the luxury of doing that. So I don’t give a rat’s ass about Geitner’s charmed life coming crashing down.

Yeah, I think Gawker may disallow that expense.

Something tells me Mr. Craggs’ final paycheck will be $546.85 less than he expects…

well, at least he tipped.

So…you only care about yourself and not other people’s problems. Isn’t that attitude the same problem you have with other people? Or are you glad that other people don’t care about your problems?

I happen to believe that society works best if we all look out for one another, and that includes letting people’s private lives stay private. If someone is a hypocrite who attacks other people for what they themselves do, I fully support exposing their hypocrisy. But what this dude did was between him and his wife. If Gawker or the male prostitute wanted to inform her of what he was doing, that was fully within their powers. But they just wanted to hurt him for their own selfish reasons. And that’s never acceptable, no matter how privileged the victim is.

Holy cow, $396.85 for a meal?

Is that coming out Union’s dues?

Note to Gawker management: Cancel Credit Cards BEFORE letting someone go.

This faith in brands in this day and age is stunning. General Foods, Enron, Newsweek, etc. A business’s goodwill can evaporate and not return. Nick Denton and Andrew Gorenstein should have thought this through a bit better. High-level managers get paid a lot because they are occasionally called upon to make a decision critical to the survival of the firm. Denton keeps the firm, of course, but he may not have much if he sticks with the current board.

What an idiot. He couldn’t add $0.15 to the tip to round it up to a whole dollar total? People who are afraid to use or unable to do simple math should not hold any elevated position. It’s like holding your phone vertical while shooting video.

I wonder if they can sue him for this?

DoctorBiobrain,

I think you’re being insensitive in your response here. It’s a serious problem in the black community of men being “on the down low”–that is, claiming they are straight and having relationships with women while also sleeping with men but not telling their girlfriends or wives about it. The person you responded to could have been badly harmed by that behavior.

While personally not really following the story my impression this was more like an Ashley Madison type of leak.
