Discussion: Gavin McInnes Sues SPLC For Labeling The Proud Boys As A Hate Group

McInnes was a co-founder of Vice Media. He founded the Proud Boys, an organization that describes members as “western chauvinists.”

Have fun paying the SPLC’s attorneys’ fees when you get laughed out of court, asshole.

Doesn’t Roger Stone have something to do with this group? I’m not sure where this goes but this group is made up of a bunch of idiots. Can we say that? Can we say they’re insecure in their manhood and find ways to lash out to pretend the opposite is true? Can we call them Shit-sniffers, because in my book they’re definitely that. Can we call them little nazi boys, or wannabe brown shirts with red MAGA hats?

Are they gonna sue Wikipedia too?

The Proud Boys is a far-right neo-fascist organization that admits only men as members and promotes political violence. It has a presence in the United States, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom. The group sees men, especially white men, and Western culture as under siege; their views have elements of white genocide conspiracy theory.

The SPLC in June apologized and agreed to pay $3.4 million to a British group and its founder after labeling them anti-Muslim extremists. Several lawsuits have been filed since then.

Bad idea…

Wow. They all really do follow the same pattern, don’t they?

Yet another Rugged Individualist (and member of the master race) who is best described as “none of the above”.

Fair comment & criticism.

I think Rog’s involvement (if you want to call it that) is limited to fortuitous photo-ops.

Wait…Gavin McInnes has a career?

This should be interesting since McInnes and his merry band white supremacists are going to have to prove that the SPLCs allegations are both wrong, malicious and defamatory. Seems to me that there is a good bit of evidence to the contrary in the public record to make this very much an uphill fight for the The Proud Boys – think of Sisyphus .

Shouldn’t they be calling themselves the Proud INCELs?

Yeah, right…just a coincidence I’m sure.

SLAPP. English rules are much more favorable to plaintiffs, to the point of being mostly ridiculous.

Still trying to wrap my head around this reported apology and offer to pay by SPLC. Something doesn’t make sense so compels me to dig deeper.

Me too. Libel is easier to establish in Britain, from what I’ve heard, so that may have something to do with it.

Here is where that infamous “S&P credit ratings are protected as free speech” and “they were just offering an opinion” judgement can finally come in handy.
