Wow, squeezing those balls must really hurt.

Green, at the hearing, stressed that Gates did not know what had been
discussed, and that the misrepresentation he was admitting to was saying
that he had been told Ukraine wasn’t discussed.

So is this going to turn out to be where Green has to ask to be replaced sometime down the road? Or was it the point where Manafort deliberately turned Gates into a conspirator to ensure his silence and loyal behavior?

conspiracy against the U.S.

Can’t wait for the White(s Only) House to spin the guilty plea of the campaign coffee boy and short-time pResidential advisor as they frantically make call after call to Attends Healthcare Products negotiating lifetime supplies for everyone in the oranzhevaya orbita.

“Can we get them monogrammed?”

Without the lies I hope.

Here is Gates’s cooperation agreement:

And here is Manafort’s new defense plan:

Lots of small fish have been netted (and gutted) but we’re waiting for the colossal Orange Grunt (yes, there really is a fish of that name) to flop around on the deck. Come on, Bob, get the gaff hook sharpened.

Very odd: Defendant agrees to “participate in undercover activities” and “not to reveal his cooperation.”

The agreement blasts his cooperation to the world. And I can’t imagine anyone saying anything even mildly interesting of a political nature around Mr. Gates until his trial is over and his sentence complete.

Is this just boilerplate? Any lawyers have a better sense of what this language means or why it’s in the agreement?

A lot of people are saying the wannabe dictator is demanding to be called Orange Roughy as a nod to both his imaginary tough-guy image and his golf prowess.

“Nobody loves (to cheat at) the game more than I do.”

Is it possible that he already performed undercover work since Feb. 1? Three weeks of talking things over with Manafort?

Memo to: Manafort, and then Trump

Subject: Your respective futures

Each man’s death diminishes me,
For I am involved in mankind.
Therefore, send not to know
For whom the bell tolls,
It tolls for thee.

You know who Gates should be angry at? All those republicans who have worked to reduce the IRS and other oversight staff so their nefarious deeds couldn’t be traced. and dammit - look what happened anyway. the only place this seems to work right is the consumer protection dept.

So can we now presume Dana Rohrbacher (R-CA) is now a potential target of the Mueller investigation?

As I understand it Rohrbacher, also called ‘Putin’s Congressman’, attended a meeting with three others. And Gates’ recent guilty plea was triggered by the FBI catching him lying under oath to conceal Rohrbacher’s presence at that meeting.

What was so important about this meeting?

I stealing that, I plead guilty, I will cooperate fully.
Winning!

At least four years. Ouch. The downside of not cooperating must have been pretty bad.

I would really like to see the conference where they showed him all they have on him and explained all the time he would serve.

This would be my guess. I don’t know if Manafort would be the target of any proactive cooperation done. There could be lots of other targets.

And, credit where credit due. The LA Times , turns out, was right. Daily Beast, turns out, was wrong.

Yes.
