Discussion: Gates Defends Video Appearance At Fundraiser To Pay For His Legal Defense

LOL. This judge must’ve been looking at this lawyer like he had two mouths. I mean, his explaining away of what we all know Gates meant when directing language about “our cause” and “stand with us” out to the oligarchy and Methbilly Nation, particularly the latter, was some epic “I myself don’t really even believe what I’m saying to you, judge, but here I am-a-sayin’ it” bullshit. I really would’ve loved to watch and read the judge’s face as it all spilled out.

The “how can I grift if you won’t let me talk, Judge” defense should merit that old saw, “If you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime”.

Too bad they can’t add a muzzle for his mouth to his ankle bracelets.

Mr. Gates welcomes any guidance that the Court may provide in this regard,”

gag or·der
noun LAW
a judge’s order that a case may not be discussed in public.
Is that enough guidance?

The title of the inevitable movie will be “Stupid, Greedy Fucks”.

Yeah, if I was his lawyer looking at those fundraising attempts, I’d require each month’s payment in advance. In cash.

The whole Gates saga is second rate. He doesn’t seem to have even had the sense to make some major $$ off his crimes. He is scrounging around for any two bit player who might be able to help him. Sad.

“In response to the Court’s Order that he explain the nature of his relationship with Mr. Burkman, Mr. Gates informs the Court that while he knows him (but has not physically met with him)

what kind of stupid sh*t is this? Either you know him or you don’t.
For this he is paying a lawyer? And they make how much an hour?

Gates and Manafort are so corrupt, it is their normal and don’t know anything else. So full of themselves they think everyone knows about them, and will donate, but I heard no one outside the media showed up.

I thought Gates needed to move freely without the ankle bracelet because he wanted to watch his kid play baseball.

They had no choice but to grovel and try to suck up. Suckers

I think he means: “I do not know him in the Biblical sense”

Manafort and Gates have both pushed against the judge’s orders to about the limit of stretchability. A contempt finding is just beyond the lines that have been reached. Their lawyers are getting close to the limits of how far they can argue, too.

Your honor, I think what you have failed to take into account is: my client is a Republican. And not just that, but a TRUMP Republican. Chasing the almighty dollar a far higher calling than adhering to some “laws” or “court orders”, which really only apply to Democrats and poor people. We know you’ll see it our way – please read my brief. Take careful note of the “envelope clause” on page 6. By that, I mean the envelope with $10k in it.
