Discussion: Gallup: Majority Of Americans Say Merrick Garland Should Be Confirmed

Discussion for article #247652

Ah, but the GOP considers any minority’s opinion as being only 3/5ths of an opinion.

According to the poll 52 percent of Americans favor Senate confirmation of Garland, while 29 percent of them oppose his confirmation. That level of support puts Garland slightly above the average percentage (51 percent) of Americans in the last 25 years who support nominees’ confirmation in their initial read of them.

But did they vote in 2014?

to keep the GOP Opinion seemingly relevant, Gallup already figured that into their modeling here…

Gallup is facilitating the MSM by helping the GOP remain arguably a real party, thus allowing the MSM to continue its false equivalency narratives and keep horse race numbers close enough to help earn ratings.

Business is Business…

Well golly gee, I guess the people have made a decision…

Judge Garland is one of those guys Liberals see too much Conservatism in and Conservatives see too much Liberalism in. In other words he’s a perfect choice for a Court that had 8 other Justices like him. A Supreme Court as our Founders envisioned it. But that’s not how it’s done today.

I was being somewhat sarcastic, but the song still remains the same…

If Democratic voters had came up in '14, folks would have really seen if Mitch knew how to do ‘yoga’.

The GOP. Once again ensuring that the vocal minority be treated like the majority. And screw the actual majority for thinking they count for anything.

Hey, all the more reason not to. Since when has the republican party (I’ll be using a small r from now on since they act so small!) ever listened to the views of most Americans?

“Majority of Americans…” Pfft! They also did not want a government shutdown or being taken to the fiscal cliff that helped to lower our credit rating. What do they know?

Indeed, and that song is called: The Only Votes That Count are the Ones That Put Us Ahead

But how do the callers on Lardass Limbaugh’s show feel? That’s what the GOP cares about.

Okay. So when are the 51 percent or better who want Garland confirmed, opposed Cruz’s government shutdown, support a woman’s right to choose, approve of Planned Parenthood going to decide they will never, ever again vote for a Republican who will vote to install a Republican as Speaker?

(Sigh) Many times about many things to no avail through most of this president’s terms. People need to vote D and vote it all the way to the bottom of the ticket including state legislative and gubernatorial races if they want Washington to accomplish stuff again.

GOP: We only listen to specific GOP voters who agree with our choice and they all agree with us.

The Republican base, “think tanks”, and McConnell could care less. But I’ll bet Senators Kirk, Johnson, Portman, Grassley, among others are paying attention.

I’m sorry, but the American people are not allowed to have an opinion on this until Election Day, 2016. And even then, they are only entitled to one opinion.
