So it’s quite possible that the feds and the state have some items that might stimulate Weisselberg’s memory should he decide to play “I can’t recall”.

The problem with being known as the guy/gal who “knows where all the bodies are buried” is that you have to watch your back and look over your shoulder every miserable day of your corrupt life. You’re simultaneously the most feared, the most indispensable and the most dispensable member of your cabal.

This Weisselberg stooge had better be thoroughly vetting and hiring first-rate chefs, drivers and bodyguards.

Maybe he’ll plead the fifth … a primer:

So, Donald Trump entrusted both the Trump Organization and the Trump Foundation to a…bookkeeper?

While you ponder that…

FUN-FACT: bookkeeper is the only English word that has three consecutive double-letters in it.

Sounds to me like he’s a lot more likely to play the “I’ll plead the Fifth unless you give me immunity” game.

Yeah but…he really doesn’t have to cough up anything. " I don’t recall" will serve him well. If Mueller has an angle on him ( and maybe he does ) it might be different.

The questions will have to be on point, so limited to trump org’s dealings with Cohen, no matter what juicy stuff lies farther afield. So Weisselberg could wriggle through with no more than implicating himself in a possible FEC campaign contribution violation (they’re toothless).

So this guy is the crook’s crook.

Now there is an excuse!

CFO Allen Weisselberg was a “bookkeeper who simply carries out directions from others,” Trump Organization attorney Alan Garten said.

How long before there’s a similar description of Garten in the newspapers?

Mueller can refer some of Weisselberg’s crimes to other agencies, including different states. Iowa may have laws against the sort of financial doings he engaged in. They may not accept his “I was only following orders” excuse. Or they may accept bribes from Trump&Co.

And after reading a story on Gwyneth Paltrow yesterday and her faboo company GOOP which cures everything and sets everything right I can report that she prefers to eliminate the double OO and simply be called GP. So there. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Wasn’t that defense rejected by the Nuremberg tribunal? As I read this article, I had flashbacks to Eichmann in Jerusalem.

Just so it’s not the lovely Ina Garten.

I don’t see how he can play the lack of memory game. The prosecutors will have truckloads of documents to put in front of him should he need a memory refresher.

New York state should bring prostitution, bribery, money laundering, charity fraud, criminal conspiracy, human trafficking and other appropriate charges against Allen Weisselberg and other top ranking Trump Organization executives. This is a vile criminal organization.

You cite the classic work regarding Eichmann, but I’m going to recommend Hunting Eichmann by Neal Bascomb about how the Mossad captured him in Argentina. No one else was interested in arresting him, not even Germany, so it took a brave band of Israelis many of whom had survived the camps to get it done.

“Can you elaborate? Do you have images?”
