Discussion: Friends Or Foes? Or Both? Inside The Complex Pelosi-Trump Relationship

Every photo you see off him shaking hands with anyone looks so bizarre, in people’s faces with a very stern look on his face. What a weirdo.
Wonder if she’ll work with him to get him out of jail.

The AP’s idea of a sensible comparison:

Trump and Pelosi each had fathers who were political power players in their home towns

And another one:

And despite daily barbs in Washington, he’s always “Mr. President” to her, and she’s one prominent politician he has not labeled with a derisive nickname.

And another one:

Trump has long viewed Pelosi as both a foil and a possible partner, and she sees in him the one who can sign legislation into law.

And then there’s this:

her ability to hang on to power in the face of a series of challenges from the left wing of the party

Trump seems to fear her … Trump is a classic bully - avoids volatile confrontations with those that he fears… or that might pivot on a dime and brutally humiliate him in a way that causes his toady followers to question him.

Don’t be a wuss, Pelosi. Fight this bastard every way possible. He has done so much damage to our country and needs to pay for it. He obviously can’t be trusted, so don’t fall for ANYTHING he says.

She did NOT face a challenge from the left wing of her party. ALL the ones opposed to her save one are centrist, blue dog type Democrat the kind of Democrat many on the left can’t stand. While it’s true that some on the left have been duped by the centrists by their use of their canned slogans calling for new blood or their claims she is too old, by and large when most of the left found out her progressive cred. was 100% legit they rose to her successful defense. That’s why as of now all challenges to her leadership are all but dead.
