Sorry, Freedumb-belles, the time to make demands is BEFORE you seal the deal with votes.

¨The House Freedom Caucus also wants to remove the committee chairs currently sitting on the committee, and instead select 20 additional members for the committee representing different geographical regions, according to The Hill.¨

So, they claim that they´re all about democracy, but then they apportion seats based on geography? Perhaps Wyoming and Montana have one vote, and so does New York and New Jersey? I thought that each member the House of Representatives was supposed to Represent more or less the same number of people (ignoring gerrymandering, of course)? It´s not supposed to be ¨geographical¨.

Sounds like ryan is no better than boehner to me.

And the Freedom Caucus once again shows it’s trustworthiness as they gather en masse and start a group Bronx cheer in Ryan’s general direction. I’d like to say I pity poor Paul, but when he demands rights for himself that he gleefully denies to others (women and parents) … well, sorry, aint gonna get anything but scorn from me. However, MY Bronx cheer is a liberal and progressive one.

So Paul, how is that deal with the Freedom Caucus working out for you? The good news is that it is early; you have a long way to go.

The House is planning to be in session just 111 days next year, the fewest in a decade. The rest of the time they’ll be campaigning to convince us they should be reelected because of their stellar records.

I’m sure they’re wondering why they even need a Speaker or any other leadership position. Why not let We The People™, aka the Koch brothers, decide what is best for the country?

I’m not sure anyone can be better than Boehner. I’ve never thought the problem was that Boehner was necessarily bad at his job, as Maddow likes to say. I think it’s a job no one can do effectively. Work with the Democrats to get must-pass legislation passed, and you alienate the Freedumb Caucus who’ll soon be coming for your head. Work only within the Republican Caucus and nothing gets done, but passing embarrassing legislation with no chance of making it out of the Senate. The best one can hope to do is to try to craft legislation with just enough goodies to quiet the Freedumb Caucus but not too many as to scare off Democrats in the House and Senate. At best, it’s a highwire act with no net.

Next up - Speaker Ryan Freedom Caucus to propose making Ryan open every session wearing a Tutu singing “I’m a little tea pot”

That only proves that small govt really works. It also gives Paul Ryan more Family Time.

Ryan’s demand for Family Time isn’t going to last. I suspect he will surrender it by next summer. Its just far too important of a political and fund raising duty to just ignore, and nobody else can fulfill it. The entire basis of how they are imaging the “new Speaker” is to be a posterchild…and poster children have to be out on the road in front of people.

The last time a far-right-wing group tried something liek this, it was called The Beer Hall Putsch.
