Discussion: Franklin Graham Continues To Fret About Muslim Influence On White House

Discussion for article #233863

I bet sinners “have access” to Mr. Graham does that say anything?

Is it wrong and bad to get advice from Muslims? Because I went to a presumably Muslim (Muslimy name!) periodontist once not long ago. Seemed like he knew his stuff, nice guy, all that. He didn’t try to radicalize my teeth or anything. I think Franklin might be more radical than the Muslims he’s all worried about.

OK. Beyond the fact that I will never (never ever) support any of these yahoos getting any (more) political or financial power, I do gotta ask why this particular d-bag gets so much airtime. Trading on daddy’s name should go away once you credibility is shot…

You nailed the heart of the matter: the radical so-called “Christian” extremists in the US are significantly more radical than the overwhelming majority of Muslims, Christians, Jews, and followers of other faiths.

Difference is those radical “Christians” here in the US have a disproportionately large megaphone, thanks to years of perceived victimhood that fuels those radical “Christians”.

Please clarify, Rev. Are you referring to the 6-7 million Americans who are Muslim? Or are you referring to representatives from allied Islamic countries such as Saudi Arabia? Why shouldn’t our fellow citizens or foreign embassies “have access” to our government? Consider the First Amendment in your response.

From the Nixon tapes we know one thing: The son is as prejudiced against Muslims as the father was against blacks and Jews.

“We must use the Bible to defend against Sharia law.” Right? No? Oy…

At first, I just thought the Franklin was off his meds, but obviously, he’s fucking crazy.

Funny, but crazy.

Just because he’s not taking your calls doesn’t mean “Christians” don’t have access.

Oh, I’m guessing he shares his dad’s views there as well. He looooves Israel, because he can’t wait for it to blow up so Jesus (his own totally-white-wasn’t-a-Jew-nosirree Jesus, of course) will come back to send me and all my Jewy relatives to hell. Great friend of Israel, if your idea of friendship is helping your friend aim the gun at his head.

When he starts recycling Daddie’s tactics (“god will call me home unless you send me money!”) you’ll know he’s jumped over the Shark-nado.

The fact that Netanyahu seems to ignore this basic reality is…proof to me that Netanyahu is not the master politician that he, and so many others, think he is.

He’s aligning himself, and the country of Israel, with a fringe segment in the US that wants the destruction of Israel, because that would signal The Rapture. They want the destruction, because The Rapture will soon follow.

He’s playing with fire. Fool.

“God will call me home unless you send me money” is (was) Oral Roberts schtick: Grifters be grifting. As it was, and so shall it be

Yup. It’s driven me nuts for years – you’d think the fact that your supposed allies’ ultimate goal for your country and people is annihilation would make you think twice about whether the course you both agree on is really the right one. But the right-wing Israelis think they’re cleverly exploiting the Christianists and can dump them when necessary. Yes, they’re playing with fire; lord help us all if Netanyahu wins on the 17th.

Did Daddy hold him under the water too long when he baptized him?

Seems likely that he will win.

Also, though? Stepping back, and maybe I’m being far too optimistic (not a trait normally associated with me)?

This (the engineering of the invitation to speak) seems to have the odor of desperation. Of a Hail Mary (just to juxtapose faith and sports and different religions).

Sure: he’s probably going to win re-election.

And sure, maybe pollsters will point to this speech. THE SPEECH.

But when the dust has settled, what’s he going to get? He alienated the most hawkish of hawks in the Senate, who withdrew the sanctions legislation, he’s managed to raise all manner of concerns about Israel intruding into US politics and vice versa, and for what?

Lots of press in the US and…Israel, where folks aren’t exactly fired up about these antics.

So dramatic move that’s not guaranteeing anything specific? Chickenhawk nonsens designed to appeal to the fringe in US politics.

Only caveat, though: the fringe has overtaken the House at this point. They’re still fringe, but now with some power.

Shame on US.

Franklin Graham has officially “snapped a twig.”

I’m ashamed that Frank is a North Carolinian.
