Discussion: Fox's Chris Wallace 'Disappointed' That Ailes Joined Trump Campaign

The “kind of journalism” was well-illustrated by Wallace’s use of the non-medical, political slur “partial-birth abortion.” His right-wing prioritization of the deficit and cutting social security benefits added to the picture of his service to the Republican Party Also, his ignoring climate change fit their agenda.

When he puts on a flak jacket and walks the streets of Aleppo I’ll give him some cred. Otherwise Morley “Nads” Safer wouldn’t let him shine his combat boots.

You and Shepard Smith are there to provide “respectability” toFux News which actually fux news every day. You do yourself no good pretending that your program is really holding interviewees accountable. That is reserved for Democratic pols. Republicans get a parachute to ensure a soft landing. Your panelists??? They too are weighted in favor of Repugs. You chose your bed. Stop complaining!!!

He’s desperate for some sort of “legacy”. His dad called him out years ago and pretty much disowned him.

That had to hurt given Mike Wallace’s almost universal respect and admiration.

It’s more like journalistic mal-practice.

Fox Pundits Suggest A Camera And Lighting Conspiracy Made Clinton Look Better Than Trump At The Debate

I watch the Fox Channel quite a bit, along with other channels, to see what’s out there. I also have followed Ailes’ career. There can be no question that Fox significantly supported the Republican Party, or certainly segments of the Republican Party, and that that was in part Ailes’ intention. It does not mean Fox did so as its sole mission, or that it does not have some talented newspersons (and often not-so-talented commentators). Because of this it was very difficult to view Fox as a legitimate news channel. I look forward to Fox becoming less of an advocate for the Republican Party in the future.

LOL!! They were, like, two seats away from each other – OMG, they (at FOX) are hopelessly childish.

Better Rumpublican tools would’ve dedicated a full quarter of their screen to boldly repeating every Rump one-liner in the most obnoxious, oversized crawl imaginable. Instead, they only filled the bottom 1/8 of the screen. Integrity!

I think they are saying the HRC looked way better than HO, in a sort of grudging way. Some people are like that. “quite good” means “really good” etc.

Fox is wholly based on “narrow-casting” to a specific niche audience—old, white, conservative people riding their LaZy Boys into the sunset. They give these folks the “pablum” of conservative right-wing, sentimentalist, nostalgia and romanticism in order to sell them shit and drugs and stuff they don’t need. Fox is ultimately about the bottom line. Ailes notwithstanding, they were never about real news from the git go so why should they change a business model that works —fleecing the geezer-rubes.

He did a great job, but continues to live in that bubble. Does anyone remember Fox News coverage of the Obama inauguration? Well, no. That’s because they had their cameras trained on GWB’s motorcade slowly winding through the Texas desert. They pined for their lost leader.

So, Chris, where do you think DJT’s supporters get this notion of illegitimacy?

Bullshit. Part of Wallace’s regular shtick is “coming clean” and acting reasonable. He’s actually the worst of the worst on FOX. He’s a vicious new style conservative and he’ll do whatever he can to force his politics on you. All you need do is parse the questions he asked as a moderator in the 3rd debate. “partial birth abortions” " SS and medicare are entitlements going broke" and dredging up debunked Clinton Foundation lies. That’s not moderating. It’s an assault on a candidate by framing questions in opposition talking points. And he got in that moderators chair because folks buy into his act.

He loves Ailes. The bullshit he’s pitching here is more of his act.

That’s completely unfair. Fox News is a large organization and it is perfectly capable of being about both the Republican Party and sexual molestation.

They’re a dessert wax and a floor topping!

“I wish Roger Ailes had not immediately gone out and killed a puppy. We have fought for years to dispel this reputation as puppy killers. We at Fox News take our responsibility to shelter puppies very seriously. Just because puppies go missing on our watch, a lot, doesn’t mean we had anything at all to do with their deaths, um, I mean disappearances. Now, the man who has led Fox News all through all these puppy-killing-reputation years has gone out and killed a puppy in public the very first time he left our building. This just gives ammunition to those who falsely claim we are at all involved in killing puppies.”

I watched you (unwillingly) at the Presidential Debate, Chris, and almost all the questions I saw from you, and/or the spin you put on them, told me that you are exactly a tool of the Republican Party.

And, Chris, if Fox News has been fighting back against claims that they’re an arm of the Republican Party, then let me tell you: their efforts have not been impressive, and they lost.

Well, from all the latest reports…so is Groper’ Ailes.

BTW: I think Bannon’s influence is all over the Trump / Ailes rumored feud of late. Trump has gone full Deadbart.
Bannon is smart enough to know this strategy won’t win additional voters, but he undoubtedly realizes Trump is just too shitty’ a candidate to win. The goal now is to energize his base for Trump/Bannon (*Uber Deadbart) TV and a nationalist political movement where a willing flock can be fleeced. FOX must be quaking in its jackboots.

Yeah…it was so charming seeing attempting to help Trump by using Fox issues to prop him up. Too bad Trump was too dim to grab one rope Wallace threw him.
