Discussion for article #247529
Thinking that Cavuto did a good job at anything is a new experience for me. I better lie down. I trust it wonât happen again.
Iâm willing to give Cavuto credit for most of what I read but adding that canard, âboth parties do itâ is kind of a cop outâŚ
This is Fox News. They spend their time telling their viewers that ONLY the Democrats âdo itâ as long as the âitâ is something bad. Both parties do it from a Fox personality is a major concession.
Cavity must be trying to protect Republicans from themselves and block the coming GOP debacle.
After all he is the same guy who rewrote history in his premise to the first GOP debate question a while back when he asked this:
âInvestors have already lost $1.6 trillion in market value. That makes it the worst start to a new year ever. Many worry things will get even worse, banks and financial stocks are particularly vulnerable,â Cavuto said. âIf this escalates like back when Obama first assumed the presidency,âŚâ
Here we go with the false equivalency thing again. This nomination is not a âboth sides do itâ situation. President Obama did not select a toxic political candidate.
Iâve asked before but will try again, does anyone know what Republican response was to the Biden and Durbin speeches when they were delivered? Almost certainly they spoke against those speeches. It would be very nice to hear those responses today.
âBoth parties do itâ is the default false equivalence copout used by FOXbots to deflect criticism from Democrats. This is the first time Iâve heard it said by a FOXbot to shut down a Republican.
I need to lie down now too. Cats and dogs sleeping togetherâŚthis is starting to feel like the Apocalypse.
Orrin Hatch is a hack, hack, hack and his logic is slippery and unConstitutional.
Iâm surprised FOX let this interview happen the way it played out. Cavuto is usually more of a homer than that.
Itâs embarrassing watching otherwise smart people make stupid arguments for the sake of political expediency. Itâs like he knows what he is saying of off-the-charts dumb but he has to follow orders from HQ.
I want one Republican, just ONE to show me where in the Constitution it says that a President can only nominate a candidate for the SCOTUS who matches the prior seat-holders political positions.
(and where it says that said Presidentâs term only lasts 3 years, that their 4th year they MUST sit on their hands and do nothing, just like Congress.)
Well, they know that only about 30 people an hour watch Fox Business channel anyway so they allow it.
Right from the start, Republicans made it clear that Obama was only 3/5 of a President.
Fuck themâŚ
Kudos where kudos are due to Cavuto (and Fox) for this one!
It never ceases to amaze me how politicians will look into the camera and spew absolute bullshit without batting an eye!
When someone says âboth parties do itâ, they could be referring to the Bork nomination of 1987, but theyâd be wrong. because Bork did get a hearing, and it was contentious. He was not confirmed simply because a majority of the Senate didnât like what he had to say including six Rs who voted against him. The Rs are always looking for payback, and they think this an equivalent opportunity.
Perhaps Murdoch is in some kind of honeymoon phase.
Whatâs becoming interesting since MSNBC flooded their department with NBC corporate journalists is how they have become pro-establishment whether it be for Republicans or Democrats (Hillary).
MSNBC with lame journalists like Chuckie boy Todd has gone in the wrong direction. The only decent one left is Rachel Maddow and my guess is she wonât hang around there for much longer.
NBC corporate needs to come and retrieve their corporate stooges and letâs have at least one progressive cable news station on the planet! Take pro-Hillary Chris Matthews with youâŚMatthews loves putting the camera on Trump and just sitting there waiting for shit to happen. meanwhile, the news blackout of Bernie Sanders continues.
Good for Cavuto trying to have an intelligent discussion about this, but unfortunately there isnât an intelligent discussion to be had. Itâs utter nonsense.
âNow, maybe that wasnât your goal, but both parties do this,â Damn I thought he was going to forget to say that.
No GOPâer is going to be straight on this. Can you imagine Hatch saying " well Neil we want to take our chances on a Republican winning the presidency so we can get another right winger on the Court. AS you know most of the crap weâve gotten away with, like Citizens United and Hobby Lobby, were a joint effort of the conservatives in Congress and on the Court. If we donât have a right leaning court were going to have to curtail an agenda that needs wing nut rulings to get by. Whatâs going to happen to voter fraud, union busting or masquerading bigotry as religious freedom if we donât get a wing nut on the Court? Sure that wing nut will be one of the toxic clowns we were just talking about buy we gotta have a wing nut".
Thatâs the truth to it. Never gonna see it though.
