It’s Fox, so fake news. The best thing that can happen for Moore is that Trump supporters hear that this is a proxy battle for Trump that he might lose and they’ll pour everything they have into supporting him. The louder Democrats act like they might win, the more it’ll push them to stop us.
Spite is all they really care about. If Jones wins, it’ll be because we were able to keep things under the radar as Trumpers focus on bigger things. But the louder we say this is about Trump, the more they’ll push against us. Passive resistance is the name of the game. We need to stay strong without being confrontational about it. Well, for the average Alabama redneck, electing Trump was hardly a mistake. Trump has picked up the fallen mantle of George Wallace and is once again advancing the cause. They’re looking for a rematch at Selma.

Sounds like an epic mistake to me. Racism is just a trick rich southerners use to divide poor southerners, so poor white folks blame poor black folks for what the rich folk are doing; thus keeping them all poorer. Alabama was already suffering before Trump came along and he only makes things worse for them.
Throwing in racism only hurts them more; not that any of them would ever admit to this. That’s part of the reason they’re still racist, because they refuse to admit they might be wrong about that too. Conservatives can never be wrong. They can only be wronged. And the people who get the angriest are the ones who know deep down that they’re wrong and can’t admit it. Cognitive dissonance is a powerful thing.
