Discussion for article #222390
Perhaps Fox News can team up with their âsister stationâ CNN and they could look for a Benghazi smoking gun somewhere over the Indian ocean?
Not surprising. What is even more disgraceful is how people in the news business treat Faux Spews like its an actual news entity as opposed to the political propaganda outfit that it is.
Iâm thinking the House Benghazi committee will backfire horribly. There already seems to be a sort of consensus among the mainstream media that the committee is a nakedly political attempt to excite the Republican base while tarring and feathering Obama and Clinton. Iâve noticed that some of the most prolific purveyors of âboth sideserismâ are dismissing it as political theater.
Even that stat belies the depth of their obsession. 1100 is only about 3 times a day. That doesnât really seem like much.
Itâs their wild accusations and insinuations that are more troubling than the number of times they say a word. Itâs the fact that they donât retract claims that have been disproven. Itâs the fact that they continue to invite guests on to spew lies and misinformation.
But, it makes me wonder how many times they said âYellowcakeâ from 2003 through âmission accomplished.â

So around Christmastime if we say, ââWhatâs with you guys? You must have mentioned Benghazi 10,000 times?â Weâll be LOW?!â
I would have guessed more than that since last Friday. Donât you know there is nothing else going on in the world.
There seems to be a direct correlation between 2016 polling showing Hillary beating everybody by a lot and Benghazi! as the the biggest scandal since Teapot Dome.
1100/year does seem low for FoxNews. I hear it a dozen times in a single random âdiscussionâ segment on Fox, but the article deoesnât clarify whether Benghazi is âmentionedâ or a âchyronâ.

I think itâs becoming obvious to anyone outside of the Fox hermetically sealed bubble that âBengaziâ is a sort of âbear baitingâ version of riling up their own base to get to the polls. Outside of that bubble, Bengazi gets no traction; itâs a deadender. For the true believers, itâs the second best motivator short of ârepeal.â
Which makes me think that the GOP might be worried about the whole repeal thing going the way of the Dodo bird. Since thatâs off the table (and letâs face it, it is), this foolishness is what theyâve got to get the morons to pull the lever for them.
Only 1100 times in a year? Thatâs only 3 times a day. Wimps. There are GOPers who say it 1100 times a week. Fox News better step up its game.
Very true, and it kind of strikes me as odd. If 2014 is supposed to be such a guaranteed win for Republicans, why are they retreating to attacks that really only appeal to their rabid base? You see Democrats developing a strategy that is as much about appealing to factions of their base as it is about appealing to the middle class and poor. The Republicans, on the other hand, seem to have gone all-in in appealing to the most angry and crazy among them. How is that a good idea, particularly as they head into primary season where the craziest of the crazies will be loudest?

Please re-read the post. Thatâs 3 programs per day average.
Yes. I stand corrected. (maybe the headline can as well) Thank you.
ââŚmentioned on no fewer than 1101 Fox News programs.â
I had the same impression, but the headline is actually misleading: Benghazi was mentioned on 1100 Fox programs in the past year. Even that seems to be low, but at least itâs more realistic.
