Discussion: Fox News Columnist On Bergdahl Release: FDR Never Would Have Released Nazis

Discussion for article #223433

“This this most shocking military decision I ever recall seeing.”

Aiding and abetting torture isn’t shocking enough? The NSA which is under military rule isn’t shocking enough?

But a prisoner swap, which has been going on since the dawn of war, is somehow shocking?

Pathetic.

“I think our military is very upset and ashamed,” Gordon said. “They realize that there’s a bullseye on their back right now because al Qaeda, the Taliban see if they can capture a U.S. troop or even if a troop walks off-base, whatever the circumstances are, they’re going to be worth their weight in gold because the Taliban can now say, ‘OK, we want Guantanamo closed.’ Al Qaeda could say, ‘We want Khalid Sheikh Mohammed back.’ This this most shocking military decision I ever recall seeing.”

So instead of killing him, they will take him prisoner and use this to negotiate the release of other prisoners. Shocking!

Keep it up with the continuous Nazi analogies, it means very little to most people now.

Everything this administration does is the worstest thing ever that anyone can recall, ever, by anyone, ever. Why?

Osama Bin Laden is dead.

ACA is working very well.

The GOP won’t sniff the White House for a generation.

Yes. We would have traded with the Nazis if at the conclusion of hostilities they had some of our POWs.

By changing the taliban from an enemy we respect, to an “illegal” enemy, we lost the opportunity to treat their prisoners as POWs, which, let’s face it, they are. Exchanging POWs is normal.

I get so angry at these people.

J.D. Gordon needs a visit from some of the veterans who came home via prisoner exchange from multiple previous American conflicts. After that, once he’s changed his drawers, he can think about issuing a retraction.

No shit. Besides, if anyone attracts Nazis, its the Republican Party. I hear they have a two-for-one deal if you throw in a White Supremacist for bonus points.

And YET — after all this time, Gitmo’s still open and KSM is still their primary resident. What’s gone wrong?

I dare the Daily Show to find out how many times Fox used Nazi this or that to refer to the actions of the Obama presidency. I suspect in the thousands…
