he and his family âleft the hospital banged up, but alive.â
Sort of like most of the nation will feel on January 20th, 2021.
"Iâd like to thank the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for ensuring that my family had a safe, crash-survivable vehicle. Iâd also like to thank the publicly-funded Highway patrol.
Other than that, all government is useless and totally sucks!
At least until dinner, is my Romaine lettuce safe to eat again?"
âEvery. Faux. Nudes. Anchor.
Donât expect any big redemption story out of this. Thatâs a screenwriter thing. In real life most people think, âWhoa, coulda checked out on that one. Makes you realize whatâs important.â And they feel that for like a week or so and then theyâre back to normal.
If you really appreciate life, then stop fucking lying every day in your job. Even if you have to switch networks.
Thoughts and Prayers TM
Note from flyover country: AWD and 4WD help you go. They do not help you stop. And Suvâs with AWD can give you the worst of all possibilities if you don"t slow down: they skid and then they roll over.
Agree, but if youâre a costal elite with Christian Flyover Country God roots, then you can rest assured even when the car is over driven for the conditions, He will protect you, His child, with His plan which clearly included government overreach by activist liberals to make seat belt installation a requirement and then socialist snowflakes pushing big brother control by making seat belt laws compulsory.
This is how He works. It is mysterious.
Gee, he just has loads of thoughts and prayers.
Iâll bet you before this he railed against mandatory seat belts as an âunwarranted government intrusionâ into our private lives and an example of the ânanny state.â
Iâll bet all those government workers canât afford to go skiing with their really important families cause Whiny and Beaker have held up their paychecks for more than a month.
Plus, I didnât know Jesusâ was called âZachâ in the Big Sky StateâŚHeâs not?..Then who helped the Baierâs out of their liberally mandated safe car? Was it the Good Guy With a Gun? Was he on time for a change? Bet Bret never asked if he was gay, either
Iâm glad that his family is OK. And that they have health care with government-mandated clauses that means a family visit to the ER doesnât bankrupt even a fox news commentator. And that they have enough money that the loss of a car (even temporarily) doesnât mean loss of a job and loss of housing.
And eff him for not recognizing that everyone deserves that kind of support.
Donât worry about it. Soon enough, weâll have cut funding far enough that those first responders find that their positions donât actually pay anymore, and then people like Brett can die on side of the road.
Iâm glad Baier and his family are ok, as well as the others involved. Sanity is a relative thing on Faux, and heâs toward that end of their scale. I honestly wouldâve had difficulty generating any sympathy for some of their other âpersonalitiesâ with all the damage theyâve helped inflict on the country.
Jeez, now you make me feel bad for thinking that thereâs one blessing I wonât be able to count.
And, courtesy of Mr. Ambrose Bierce:
âPray, v. To ask that the laws of the universe be annulled in behalf of a single petitioner, confessedly unworthy.â
Your time may be close! Find another employer and save your soul! THEN count your blessings.
âIâve never unbuckled a dead bodyâ - some highway patrol dude to my friend when we were teenagers, while giving the incident report to the local radio station one weekend.
But obviously itâs not just that individual choice (as in the choice to follow the LAW). As others have pointed out, itâs also the vehicle and road safety measures, the tax-payer-funded first responders, the availability of meaningful healthcare, and the fact that going to the ER doesnât mean going bankrupt. That family is likely alive right now specifically because we donât live in a libertarian paradise.
Well hereâs an idea Bret. Quit your job and do something else with your life. Work for an actual news organization, you resemble a teevee journalist (visually).
Otherwise, it will be clear that the gift that is every day on this planet is one you plan to spend being highly compensated for âowning teh libsâ.
After this, perhaps he should reflect on being on the wrong side of history.
âAWD and 4WD help you go. They do not help you stop.â
I am wont to remind people, âAll cars made in the last 100 years or so have 4-wheel stop.â
Bet heâs glad for all those government regulated safety features nowâŚha ha ha just kidding, he knows it was just not godâs time for them yet.
