Ablow is so lacking in self awareness - not only about his own physique, but also about the very medical profession he represents. He is a psychologist/psychiatrist who diagnoses individuals he has never met and stereotypes groups of individuals on a daily basis. He does such disservice to the mental health profession.

The White Right loves to complain that Michelle Obama isn’t Kate Moss. They don’t get that Michelle Obama probably has no desire to look like some 100 pound waif, that women spend millions of dollars trying to have a body more like Michelle Obama’s. I suspect it’s part of the Right’s apoplexy over the fact that blonde haired, blue eyed WASP is no longer the standard of beauty. Young women no longer want to look like Christie Brinkley, they want to look like Beyonce, Sophia Vergara, J-Lo, Kim Kardashian, Nickie Minaj (well, that’s a bit much), etc. Comments like this are all part of the Right’s endless freakout over the loss of the White standard.

Absolutely! Women of all races have been deeply harmed by that standard. It’s one of the reasons I’ll be forever grateful to J-Lo, who taught this country that having a big ass is an asset.
