And there was a woman who said she saw the cops gun him down and there’s gonna be violence and all the rest of that.

Ah yes, the Butterfly McQueen defense.

If you can’t report the news, make it up.

Once again, Shep is the only person there with class and dignity. No BS or blaming others, just “we screwed up”. Hannity would somehow find Obama to be at fault.

But, but, but…Bill’O saw a PICTURE! It has to be real!

“Fox News host Shepard Smith issued a startling on-air retraction on
Monday, saying the channel had “screwed up” when a reporter said an hour
earlier that he’d witnessed a black man being shot while running from Baltimore police.”

Was that “reporter” Bill O’Reilly perchance? Was he actually on site or did he just see a picture?

FOX MAKING A RETRACTION FOR A FALSE REPORT???ONE???

ah…(cough)… I’m stunned. Normally they just lie and let it simmer like pig poo on a hot Iowa summer day.

Uhhhhhh, exactly how does a team witness a shooting right in front of them, see a gun, hear a gunshot, see a man that “looks to be in bad shape”… all in “error?”

Even for Fox this is bizarre.

Bizarre at Fox is normal as far as I can determine.

No, it’s fairly typical for eye witness testimony. There have been tons of psychological experiments where they have staged shootings in college classrooms and practically all the eyewitnesses get a good part of what happened wrong.

Further, how was this an “honest mistake”?

What?

“I was getting ready to do a live shot for my shift … I was sitting in the car, scribbling on my notes for the next live shot, and he ran right in front of us,” Tobin said. “I never saw the individual turn and do anything I would consider an aggressive act, but we did see the officer draw his weapon and I counted one gunshot.”

Tobin also mentioned he “clearly saw a revolver on the sidewalk” after the shooting.

The man, who Tobin said “looked to be in bad shape,” was taken to the hospital by paramedics.

A good part of it wrong? What part did he get right?

Why does Shep Smith put up with this shit. He needs to move to a real network.

A man was taken to the hospital. Why? I don’t know. Neither does Fox. Fox doesn’t do real reporting.

OMG!!! Fox Not The News fucked up! Who woulda’ thunk it?

At least they were fair and balanced while doing it.

So they fixed this ONE report. I believe the expression is “a drop in the bucket”.

Fox News reporter Mike Tobin originally reported at 2:52 p.m. ET that about seven minutes earlier he saw a “young, black male” running from police when he was shot.

Perhaps Tobin should have used that seven minutes to verify the alleged incident.

Lies lies lies 24/7. Were it any other “news” network, Tobin would be fired and on his way out the fucking door in no time flat. Instead, Faux will try to spin this and use it to argue something crazy like “the continued unrest and rioting in Baltimore appears to be because the people there think this imaginary shooting took place and they’re using it as an excuse to continue rioting even though it’s not true.” I guarantee it…Faux will try to work this into their narrative and turn it to their advantage.
