Flashing a file photo of Abdullah II in a military uniform, Doocy said Jordanians were rallying behind the king “because he, unlike the American President, is taking a tough stance.”

The Spanish American war was a newspaper war. Thousands died to drive the sale of the Hearst and Pulitzer newspapers. Fox has apparently decided to take a page from William Randolph Hearst. Fox’s performance the last few days is “yellow journalism” at its worst.

If King Abdullah can tap the nationalism in his country by suiting up and quoting William Munny I say more power to him. At least he can actually fly jets.

That won’t work in this country. Sure, there’s a certain segment of Americans who think it’s unpatriotic to say anything critical about American Sniper, but most people have learned to be suspicious of appeals to emotion.

During a commercial break Doocy and Kilmeade staged a simulated meeting between themselves and the Jordanian King. Studio security became involved when the various acts of sodomy and airborne eruptions of bodily fluid alarmed coworkers.

ya know… if you had any sort of brain then you’d know the head of a government would never ever be allowed to put him or her self in harm’s way like that… even noted strongman and warhawk ‘W’ wasn’t allowed to drive a plane to a stationary target like an aircraft carrier to proclaim ‘Mission Accomplished’…

It’s also an insult for the King or President to presume he can do what our highly skilled soldiers and pilots do. Those men and women have important, difficult jobs. You don’t dress up and pretend you can do it because you like the way you look in their clothes.

So this is more like Bush’s ‘Mission Accomplished’ in a flight suit moment. Interesting…these people seem to prefer pseudo heroes and leaders to the real deal. What an asshat is Steve Douchey!

Care to explain how?

I haven’t noticed any reduction in the effectiveness of emotional appeals, and doubt I ever will.
