I think he’s unwittingly homed in on the problem with Fox News. People at Fox are not chosen for their ability to be honest – not with each other or even with themselves. A high honesty quotient is basically a disqualification for working for Fox.

So, the “Fair and Balanced” news organization is really a conglomeration of self identifying conservatives. Gutfield doesn’t make mention of how liberal and progressive anchors and others working for Fox News handle Trump’s presence in the race. Could it be “Balanced” is a lie?

Co-host Eric Bolling jumped in to say, “It’ll be back.”

“It’ll be back,” Gutfeld said in response. “But somehow, Trump has shattered that, and now we’re sitting here, we’re grappling with this internal strife and we have no way to get out of this.”

Oh yes. Those halcyon days when the Fox entertainers knew that they could say no matter what outrageous lie and still expect a hefty bonus check from Rupert Murdoch during the holidays. Now, they don’t know which candidate to vilify. I think Bolling is right (wonder of wonders!) that the general election will bring relief, but it just will never be the same when the D candidate has less melanin to work with.

I guess the open admission that they’re ordinarily propagandists and schills for the Republican Party isn’t newsworthy in itself. Like the Downing Street Memo. Not newsworthy and worthy of reporting because “everybody always knew” the things it proved that the MSM assiduously avoided reporting.

Some of us older folks remember the rage and vituperation you got over Hillary. Her name itself was a kind of spat-out epithet for Limbaugh and his crowd. She was ferociously smart and not inclined to hide it, educated, accomplished, very successful in her own independent career, and part of a generation of women that was a serious threat to entrenched privilege. And that was when she was the First Lady. Just wait.
