They are just furious that we’ve caught on to their little word game of trying to make the word ‘thug’ the new 'ni(CLANG!)

Okay…technically since the world ‘Thug’ came into the English Language from India where the word originated with a term associated with a band of assassins and thieves, yes, ‘thug’ was applied to nearly every race of miscreant out there. The problem is that people like the hosts of FOX have begun to use it in such a way as to apply it specifically to Blacks.

It’s amazing how these racists complain about the prevalence of “single-parent families” in the black community without addressing the policies which allow the mass incarceration of black men, which creates even more single-parent families.

Bingo.

Not to sound pedantic, but the word came from ‘thuggee,’ which was the mode of strangulation used by devotees of the Indian goddess Kali. At first it was a synonym for ‘assassin.’ Over the years it’s turned into a synonym for ‘vandal’ or ‘hoodlum.’ Fox Not the News has worked assiduously for the last few years to apply this word to every Black scofflaw they can. I have never heard them apply it to Whites or Asian-Americans or any other minority with the possible exception of Hispanics. Never.

Personally, I like how they pretend to be exasperated over being called out over something they have been trying to do since Obama was elected, namely convert another piece of the English language into something almost pejorative. They should not be so ‘surprised.’ and think we’re too dumb to see what they are trying to do. They have done this before with the word ‘liberal.’ And we remember.

They are trying another way to give some kind of weird respectability to the plaintive whine of Bible Spice; “How come Blacks can say 'ni(CLANG!) and we can’t?” This was croaked by a college professor who said, “For the same reason that I can say something bad about my mama but YOU better not say anything bad about her.”

Truthfully, there are a lot of Blacks who think that using the “n” word at all is bad, and I tend to agree with them. Either you embrace a word totally and allow everyone to use it (which is why the last time someone called me ‘queer’ as a put down, I laughed at them) or you don’t use it at all even if it’s a word that you being part of that group can get away with saying.

But, yes, FOX has slowly become the White Supremacist Channel.

Their branding of the event being the fault of the protesters is failing and they know it. Calling people names evades the fact that the situation is structural and that its happening all over the US and not just on white bread murika Fox news.

I had a discussion on this point with an otherwise-intelligent Teabagger. Woman asked “How come the Blacks can say ni(CLANG!) but we can’t?” She was genuinely puzzled and has a nice demeanor, so I answered.

“Life’s not fair. It just isn’t. Blacks can say it without the same malevolence that white slaveholders did but some Blacks don’t say it anymore because the word has ALWAYS been an insult and that power is still there more than 150 years after the Civil War. Why would you want to say ni(CLANG!) anyway?”
