Discussion: Fox Host: Jenner Coming Out As Conservative Was 'More Courageous' Than Transition (VIDEO)

Discussion for article #237021

Republicans, perpetual victims in a country that is clearly out to destroy them by giving them all the power.

I actually agree just a bit- it takes a lot of bravery to be both a trans woman and a Conservative. After all, it’s always so nice to be near other Conservatives who will look at you like you’re some sort of Frankenstein’s Monster and treat you like you’re a horrible person and human.

…Caitlyn Jenner’s real bravery rested in her declaration of being a Republican instead of her gender transition.

Weird. because if you look on Twitter, it’s the “liberals” who are praising Jenner while it’s the TCOTs who are saying the most vile things about her.

“Bruce Jenner did something that was very difficult. Bruce Jenner did
something that he knew was probably going to give him a lot of grief.
Bruce Jenner stood up and loudly and proudly declared that he was a
Republican.”

Is there a reason why Bolling can’t bring himself to refer to Jenner as ‘Caitlin’? Why is it more courageous to “come out” as a Rethug when she won’t be accepted by her political party? Personally, I’d call that kinda stupid.

Yes, because Republicans face the same demonization – and maybe even more – as trans people in the armed forces, on the battlefield, in public restrooms…

If Andrea is correct, then Mitt Romney also deserves praise for his courage in coming out as a Republican. After all, it’s not about transgender, it’s about politics, right? Same for Donald Trump, the Koch brothers, Andrea Tartaros, Dana Perino, Vince Vaughn, Victoria Jackson, Cliven Bundy, shoot, every single Republican is courageous just for being a Republican. Everyone gets a gold star!

Wow, kinda sounds like hypocrisy coming from the ideologues who regularly dismiss that kind of inclusive encouragement as being hippy dreamland lets-all-hold-hands-and-sing-kumbaya liberalism.

Next up…Bill-O: “Wheaties are dead to me.”

Hey, whatever works. If this gets a thousand more Teabaggers out to vote, “Mission Accomplished”, no matter how fucking ridiculous the claim is.

Most Republicans will never change.

Caitlyn --------the next candidate in the ClownCar?

I cringe thinking about what it must be like seeing the world through the same depressing lens every single day

I think it was more courageous to come out as a conservative than to come out as Caitlyn

Maybe in Malibu, California. But the exact opposite would be the case in many other areas of the country.

These two have said stupid things in the past … wait, let me rephrase that more accurately … once or twice these two have actually said something intelligent … but this one takes them even further into the land of the absurd, idiotic and completely irrelevant.

I really hate being put in a position to defend a fox news host, but i think it would be acceptable to use “Bruce” and “he” in this context because the statement was actually made when Caitlyn was still identifying as Bruce. I’m sure someone would correct me if that’s unacceptable.

On a general note, there is going to be a steep learning curve in discussing this issue, where even folks who don’t want to be offensive are having trouble properly articulating their thoughts. I noticed professional talkers on the ol’ tee vee last night slipping with their pronouns. More people became accepting of gay marriage as more gay people came out of the closet and were visible in their day to day lives. Most Americans, i would imagine, haven’t had much contact with trans folks on a day-to-day, or even passing basis, and aren’t well versed on how to talk about these issues.
